Title and Summary

Manager, Product Development

Overview
• Within P&E, the Network Products team oversees Mastercard's Next Gen Network initiatives (such Network Access, Transaction Switching, and Network Enhancements).
• The vision for the Mastercard Edge Platform (MEP) product development team is to deliver a ubiquitous platform that provides all Mastercard products & services with the ability to create and run their workloads on all our edge presence through a unifying, consistent and predictable runtime.
• The MEP team works at enabling the "edge everywhere, run anywhere" vision, by modernizing MIP, enabling new modes of connectivity for the customers and developing the foundational components our edge will run on.
• This position will deliver the MEP in partnership with the cross-functional global stakeholders: Product Strategy, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Delivery, Service and Network Management teams.

Role
• Detail the epics with full view of functional and non-functional requirements to ensure that Engineering can successfully deliver a MEP solution which satisfies capabilities which fit into the broader Next Gen Network product architecture. Structure the product roadmap and identify phasing of the delivery, prioritize the backlog, and define the acceptance criteria.
• Participate to the definition of the flows and interfaces for the product and perform joint solution design with Engineering teams to drive delivery of MEP to Mastercard public and private cloud environments globally as well as physical devices deployed at customer sites.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to define, design, develop and deliver scalable products for commercialization, ensuring the build effort concludes on time and budget, enabling application teams to adopt the MEP foundation to go to market with a great customer experience.
• Structure the requirements, perform a 360-degree coverage of the problem, use and respect a clear terminology, provide a logical path enabling the reader (Product Development, Product Architecture, PMT's) to analyze and conclude whether the epic is comprehensive for getting best feedback.
• Ensure the integrity and consistency of the delivery of the vision across all products: capabilities, scalability, performance, speed-to-market, readiness for growth, re-usability.
• Produce the artifacts needed by our internal customers with consistency, quality and care: sequence diagrams, capability training decks for Product Management, DevZone API articles, content to be inserted in product guides, ...
• Apply logic, reasoning, and sound decision-making skills to elaborate solutions with Engineering teams.
• Understand the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems supporting the products, including: business requirements, use cases, UX, back-office systems, interfaces and associated data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations (i.e. trouble management/associated support strategies), and maintenance.
• Ensure replication of knowledge, share workload on initiatives, ensure mutual back-up, help the team scale, learn and expand its scope.

All About You
• More than 3 years product development experience - elaborating requirements, owning and managing backlog of two or more delivery squads, participating in solution design, understanding systems capabilities and limitations by executing on features and enhancements
• Be comfortable with ambiguity, i.e., be able to forge a path forward between minimum amount of requirements and complexity of the ecosystem to leverage. Tenacity, exploration, analysis.
• Be used to perform quality preliminary work for discovery and analysis to advance requirements ahead of engaging of teams
• Minimal guidance to elaborate requirements, organize the work, identify the critical path for delivery, partner with Engineering to secure that delivery, drive resolution of obstacles on that path.
• Strong sense of ownership to drive tasks to completion and hold others accountable to ensure successful delivery of commitments
• Dives deep into the functional and non-functional characteristics of the product
• Experience in agile delivery methodologies (SAFe, scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Accountability, sense of urgency, care, passion for the domain.
• Superior oral and written communication and organization skills.
• Problem solving and pragmatic mindset, analytical skills, attention to documentation.
• Understanding of cloud technologies and of modern development techniques (microservices and CI/CD) is a plus
• Understanding in modern software development techniques is a plus

• STL is preferred, Dublin is possible
• Other Tech Hub locations are not open.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
