Overview
The Mastercard Europe Finance team is currently hiring a strong candidate to support the Italian market at Mastercard. The Director plays a key role in assessing the financial impact of strategic and market development activities for the country and act as important financial advisor and business partner. The role will report to the Division Finance Officer of Western Europe and will be in charge of planning, reporting and other finance tasks for the Italian market. The Director should have a Finance background, with experience from Planning and Accounting role as well as strong analytics & business partnering skills. The position is based in Milan.

Role

• Responsible for a broad range of finance related responsibilities and acts as a finance generalist for the italian market
• Activities include deal management, short/long-term planning and contract management; managing risks and opportunities, monitoring the market's revenue and expenses while considering macro-economic factors
• Provides financial insights to leadership, leveraging an advanced understanding of budgeting, LRP and forecasting at detailed levels; communicates areas of concern or risks; makes recommendations on resolutions
• Partners with regions, business units, business partners and/or European Finance to assist in developing, analyzing and validating new business opportunities. Assists with new opportunity assessments by providing analysis to the business for ongoing deals and Customer Business Agreements [CBA]
• Executes large, complex agreements, leveraging knowledge of financial & data technology tools
• Assists with strategy and process improvements to ensure alignment with market objectives; proactively identifies ways to improve processes and executes agreed upon improvements
• Prepares and updates designated financial reports
• Manages a financial Analyst working remotely.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Have a track record building internal and external business partnerships; developing and leveraging key relationships in order to understand the needs and objectives of stakeholders
• Successfully oversee and execute the completion of global, complex management reporting (e.g.. monthly financial results, quarterly forecasting, annual budgets)
• Have experience in consulting and providing advice and feedback to the business on risk and opportunity considerations, leveraging advanced analytical techniques as well as outside trends and events
• Be experienced with financial systems and applications (e.g.. Hyperion, Oracle); have excellent knowledge of Excel; have good verbal and writing skills
• Be able to establish priorities and to work independently
• Be a team player, analytical, results driven, flexible and adaptable
• Be structured and well organized, able to work efficiently under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Be fluent in Italian & English
