About the Role
Develops, implements, and coordinates HR programs and policies in the areas of staffing, training and development, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. Stays abreast of laws, regulations, and, ensuring that the organization's policies conform to laws, are current with industry trends, and adhere to the Company's responsibilities to employees.
Your Responsibilities
• Ensures compliance to the Magna Employee's Charter. Protects the interests of the employees and the Company in accordance with Company policies, Employee's Charter Principles and applicable employment laws and regulations
• Develops, maintains, and continuously improves the effectiveness of Human Resource programs, policies and procedures, employee relations, staffing/retention/motivation, employee orientation, training and development, communications, organizational development and change, and succession planning
• Formulates short and long term strategic plans and goals for compensation, benefit programs, based on expected changes in market and organizational business needs. Oversees salary and benefit administration ensuring all plans are competitive and equitable
• Partners with leaders to build talent capability through career experiences, development opportunities and robust plans, training, and mentoring engagements
• Oversees the recruitment and training and development programs, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations
• Facilitates the implementation, adoption, and use of the Company's HRIS
• Administer personnel policies and practices. Directs the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, and practices. Conducts regular reviews of all personnel policies, programs, and practices to keep Company abreast of current practices and informed of new developments and pending and new laws and regulations
• Trains managers in Magna HR Programs, progressive discipline, conducting performance reviews, etc.
• Prepares and delivers presentations for managers and associates on a variety of HR-related topics
• Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
• Provides management guidance in matters of employee development, performance management, and corrective action
• Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of information as required by law or other departments in the organization. Maintains record keeping practices as appropriate and related to topics such as salary and benefit plan administration, personnel transactions, and employee statistics. Ensures the proper maintenance of employment files
• Establishes and oversees programs and procedures to maintain/improve employee morale and productivity. Provides guidance, counsel, and problem-solving support to Managers and individuals for human resource/employee relations issues
• Manages Immigration and Global Mobility matters in conjunction with Corporate Immigration and Global Mobility
• Leads the talent review process and succession planning for the team
• Manages Employee Opinion Survey Action Plan development/focus group activities that support continuous improvement of employee experience
• Conducts all responsibilities in a professional and confidential manner with neutrality and fairness
• Acts as an avenue in the Open Door Process
• Supports various employee engagement committees (Magna in Action, Magna Employee Engagement Committee, Wellness Committee, Safety Committee)
• Plans, leads, and presents HR updates to employees at employee meetings
• Takes on any special projects as assigned by management
Who we are looking for
• Minimum of seven (7) years of Human Resources work-related experience preferably in an automotive/technology/manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a management/leadership role and proven ability to lead a team
• Bachelor's degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in Human Resources or related filed
• Experience with Workday, Ceridian, and ADP E-Time preferred
• Previous experience in staffing, training and development, HR programs/policy development, performance management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and management consultation
Your preferred qualifications
• Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft)
• Excellent communication and writing skills required
• This position requires the ability to perform work while sitting, standing, average mobility to move around an office environment and able to conduct work at a computer
• Some travel maybe required (Valid driver's license required)
