Job Overview:

 

A senior compliance associate is responsible for ensuring that investment portfolios and funds are managed in accordance with applicable investment guidelines, regulations, and restrictions.  The role will also perform trade surveillance, review and update policies and procedures and help support other investment and trading related initiatives from a compliance perspective.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Review, interpret and code investment guidelines: The senior compliance associate will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting investment guidelines, restrictions, and regulations, by way of reviewing client investment management agreements, regulatory requirements, and other relevant documents.  This will include coding those restrictions into an order management and guideline compliance system.
  • Monitor investment and trading activity: The senior compliance associate will be responsible for monitoring investment portfolios to ensure that they are compliant with investment guidelines and restrictions. This includes the monitoring of pre-trade compliance and post-trade/batch compliance in an order management and guideline compliance system.  The role also includes monitoring of investment and trading activities for conflicts such as allocation, other brokerage practices and trade errors.
  • New Products:  The senior compliance associate will assist with new product launches across a spectrum of products and wrappers, including separately managed accounts, mutual funds, UCITS and private funds.
  • Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders: The senior compliance associate will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that investment portfolios are being managed in accordance with guidelines, policies and in the best interest of our clients. This may involve communicating compliance issues or potential violations to stakeholders and working with them to resolve any issues.
  • Conduct compliance testing: The senior compliance associate will be responsible for conducting trade surveillance and other reviews to ensure our policies and procedures are working effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes: The senior compliance associate will be responsible for staying up-to-date on regulatory changes and developments that may impact investment compliance. This may involve researching and analyzing regulatory changes, including the creation or updating of processes, policies and procedures applicable to investment and trading related activities.

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in investment compliance or a related field
  • Strong understanding of investment regulations and guidelines
  • Knowledge of order management and guideline software, preferably Charles River
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software programs

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $165,000-$190,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
