The Defense Systems Sector of Leidos is seeking a Senior Manager - Manufacturing Estimating that will lead recurring estimating activities across the Leidos Defense Sector Manufacturing team. The Senior Manager will also lead improvement initiatives related to manufacturing estimating that will standardize formats, improve throughput, improve capacity planning, and improve headcount forecasting. The Leidos Defense Sector Manufacturing team includes 5 major production facilities in Huntsville, AL and Colorado Springs, CO. Location for work is Huntsville, Alabama.

Primary Responsibilities
- Establishment of a focused, stand-alone manufacturing estimating team for the entire Manufacturing Segment.
- Management and leadership of the Manufacturing Estimating team.
- Scheduling and management of estimating execution to support capture/proposal activities.
- This individual will be responsible for coordinating New Business Funds (NBF) expenditures with the Manufacturing Business Development Direct to support management of the overall NBF budget.
- Implementation of industry best practices like standard support-to-touch ratios, learning curve application, and Cost of Poor Quality estimating.
- Translating data from Basis of Estimates (BOEs) into more useful information to improve headcount planning and equipment capacity planning forecasts.
- Coordinating with Manufacturing Finance, Site Management, and Functional Leadership on staffing plans, capacity forecasts, and continuous improvement.
- Leveraging existing estimating software to exploit all relevant features to improve throughput and drive estimating efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline and at least 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience and 4+ years of leadership/management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing estimating for a high-mix business with multiple manufacturing technologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment in an operations, technical, or business capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume proposal environment.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced technical degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing of Defense, Space, and Aerospace products and related manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Previous experience in an estimating capacity supporting a manufacturing organization with assembly, test, machining, electrical, or welding capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience with estimating software applications (ex: Apriori, SEER-MFG, DELMIAWorks, Costimator, etc.) and expanding the use/benefit of the tool within the business.
- Prior experience and success with implementation of process improvements related to estimating, data processing, capacity planning, or headcount forecasting.
- Advanced data management skills including Power BI, Microsoft Excel, associated macros, and advanced formulas to promote efficient management and usage of large amounts of estimating data.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
