Leidos is seeking a Research Assistant to aid in research in the area Warfighter Performance Department at the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT. NSMRL conducts research and investigates the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings.

The Challenge:
- Monitor and summarize progress of projects within the department with summary reports, subject to final Government approval
- Assist Government PI with implementation of project estimate sheets and ensure periodic spending updates are provided to Department Heads
- Prepare, review, and disseminate various internal and/or external communications, subject to final Government approval
- Assist with tracking the routing of research products
- Assist with other administrative aspects necessary to the generation of proposals, protocols, presentations, papers, patents, user articles, lay articles, and related knowledge products
- Assist Government PI with formatting and revisions, if required, submission, and tracking of all administrative, financial, logistical, and scheduling aspects of scientific research within the department (including tracking Institutional Review Board, Scientific Review Board, and Public Affairs Officer submitted documents), in accordance with Command policy, subject to final Government approval
- Assist with preparing standard operating procedures and/or go-by documentation for all the administrative, financial, logistical, and scheduling aspects of scientific research within the department, subject to final Government approval
- Coordinate SharePoint Government approved document content.
- Ensure communications of scientific research-based requirements are in good style, without typos, spelling errors, grammatical errors, etc
What Sets You Apart:
- Candidate will need work in the office (Groton, CT) at least 50% of the time. Candidate will need to be able to commute daily to the site.
- Bachelor's degree with 0-2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Candidates must have willingness to be exposed to a broad research and management experience in the human performance domain, including experimental psychology, Industrial/Organizational, psychophysics, cognitive, social or a related field to conduct the multi-disciplinary research needed
- Candidates must have the ability to speak well, concisely and confer with professional colleagues on a peer basis
- Demonstrate the ability to extend and apply the knowledge of research to the missions of the NSMRL Command and the Navy
- Ability to acquire and maintain, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level, but current clearance is not required
- Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required

- Administrative experience within a Government or military organization.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience purchasing supplies
- Experience with documentation management practices

Pay Range:
Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00
