Responsibilities:
As a key Leader of the R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization, you will report to the Chief R&D Data Science Officer and collaborate closely with the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area (TA) leadership. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a strategic Data Science vision for Neuroscience, addressing critical challenges in drug discovery and development.
Leveraging your domain expertise, you will drive Data Science projects that deliver high-impact insights. You will effectively communicate the value of Data Science to business stakeholders and work alongside development teams to identify and pursue innovative use cases. Your focus will include employing advanced analytical techniques, such as AI and Machine Learning, to harness genotypic, phenotypic, and multi-omic data for biological insights, as well as utilizing Real World Data and aggregated RCT data to enhance clinical development efforts. This includes developing digital health biomarkers, optimizing patient stratification and enrollment strategies, and facilitating synthetic control arms, particularly in rare and pediatric diseases.
• Lead the adoption and scalability of Data Science within the Neuroscience TA by collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Neuroscience TA head and CDTLs, to achieve impactful results.
• Establish high standards of excellence through professional expertise and people leadership.
• Foster a data-driven culture and enhance the skills of a high-performing Data Science team focused on Neuroscience.
• Collaborate with the R&D Data Science team to design use cases, develop algorithms and models using AI/Machine Learning, and ensure the interpretability of results for maximum impact
• Oversee data purchasing, ingestion, wrangling, platform development, and tool productionalization as needed.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on business data, analytics techniques, and underlying business drivers.
Qualifications
• A minimum education level of a master's degree or MBA is required, a PhD or MD degree is highly Preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years' experience is required
• Critical experience in developing, communicating, implementing and executing bespoke strategies
• Critical experience with R&D in either biopharmaceutical product development, Data Sciences, and/or strategic consulting, with a clear track record of success, is required
• Conversant and familiar in Neuroscience Diseases, understanding of trends in Neuroscience research and cutting-edge Neuroscience analytics applications - covering Neurodegeneration, Neuropsychiatry, Neuroimmunology, and more
• Familiar with machine learning, quantitative methods, predictive modelling and other analytics frameworks and Digital Health techniques
• People Leadership and managing a team of direct reports in required
• Expert knowledge of large biological, chemical and patient data sets used in Neuroscience and related analytic methods
• Demonstrated ability of success in influencing and leading, including change implementation, in a large and matrixed organization
• Passion for innovation and "can do" attitude
• Proved experience on prioritizing and implementing complicated portfolio investments
• Ability to work in ambiguous situations-project scope may not be clear in initial stages and may need to be created
• Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 194000 to 356500.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year.
