Key Responsibilities:

  • Use engineering knowledge to support the process of developing deformity correction and trauma orthopedics products.
  • Draft drawings and run development testing.
  • Support of a variety of design and verification activities.
  • Gain experience with tolerance stack analysis, mechanical testing and finite element analysis. This position will also provide you with the opportunity to attend cadaver labs.
  • Connect with internal and external project team members regularly and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

  • Current university student in an accredited Mechanical or Biomedical engineering program in good academic standing.
  • A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software as well as intermediate to advanced software skills with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Interest in medical device/orthopedic fields.
  • A "Hands-on" engineering student with the ability to think creatively
  • Highly motivated and can work independently on one or multiple projects under general direction and can exhibit an attention to detail
  • Have excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Be enthusiastic, thoughtful, thorough, decisive, and flexible, conducting yourself professionally and with integrity
  • Has a good sense of priorities and manages time accordingly.

Preferred:

  • Establish and cultivate collaboration and partnership internally and externally.
  • Has strong communication skills (written and verbal), including experience presenting in front of multidisciplinary audiences, and attending team meeting face to face and by teleconference.
  • Technical proficiencies are highly desirable such as is experience with PTC Creo (or equivalent), design, mechanical testing, and medical device documentation.
  • Participation in campus/community service activities is desired.

Other:

  • This position requires a full-time (40 hours/week) work week. on site, between January and June of 2025.
  • Ability to relocate to the West Chester, PA area for the full duration of the co-op.
  • You will also need to provide your own transportation to the office in West Chester, PA
