The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:
Project Manager Engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning focuses on coordination of all engineering activities in assignment project, ensuring that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost- effectively executed, in accordance with the contract specifications, quality standards and safety & integrity requirements. The activities associated with project manager engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning include discipline engineering and design; planning, e.g., the production of engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning budgets, schedules and risk assessments; and the provision and coordination of resources (personnel and equipment) to execute the work.
Your Responsibilities:
- Driving the technical solution in coordination with other departments (i.e., System Engineering, Primary/Mechanical Engineering, Secondary/Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering) and support Tender Manager/ Project Manager for assigned Project/Tender.
- Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of engineering disciplines.
- Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers. Attends project/Tender meetings and presents all technical aspects of project/Tender assignments.
- Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues within the organization. Shares best practiceacross different projects and disciplines
- Evaluating the overall cost of the engineering disciplines and getting approved from Business Unit Head
- Utilizing standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensuring that engineering activities are compiled with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Your Background:
- B.E./B. Tech/M. Tech with minimum 8-10 Years of Experience in any Engineering Discipline (i.e., SystemsEngineering, Primary & Secondary Engineering).
- Experience with Medium to High Voltage Projects in Power System - Substations Domain
- Knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose. Example, Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors and Surge Arrestors
- Knowledge on International standards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE)
