Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Manager - Project Management is responsible for leading the PMO function at a regional level, supervising a Project Management team through initiation, business acquisition, development & launch of multiple new product development & advanced engineering projects and driving continuous improvement within the team utilizing PMO best practices and TEOA (TE Operating Advantage) methodology. The role will report to the Sr Mgr PMO for BCS (Board Connectivity and Sub-Systems)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the local (or regional) PAC Governance and drive continuous improvement initiatives for China PAC (governance, agenda & action tracking, stakeholder engagement)
• Attract and retain key talent (effective, efficient, energetic, and passionate Project Managers).
• Build a creative, innovative, 'can-do' mindset project management organization.
• Meet and exceed KPIs for Launch on Time, Launch on Cost & Budget, Launch on Quality, Gates on Time and NPI Health / Growth in the Region
• Improve critical project management processes and workflows (risk & change management / project prioritization & alignment / project approvals / budgets adherence).
• Improve project-management workforce effectiveness.
• Manage process compliance and adhere to project management governance.
• Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span across multiple customers and product lines
• Clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities to team members on a regular basis. Be a key instance to facilitate resolution of project issues and remove roadblocks.
• Contribute to PMO process improvement and adherence in the region while aligning with SV PMO
• Provide progress reports, update TE Project system / Metrics / Tools and ensure data integrity
• Achieves results by implementing a rigorous development and project-management process.
• Embraces a continuous improvement mindset, work on waste elimination, improve team's focus and prioritization, upgrade talent and improve capabilities.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering field, preferably additional business administration background
• 5+ years of relevant Project Management or Engineering experience with 2+ years in managing teams preferred.
• Experience in building & developing a PMO organization is preferred
• Professional experience within industrial or automotive markets and knowledgeable regarding respective customers and engineering requirements.
• Experience in managing complex projects & portfolios (high innovation content, $xM budgets, cross-functional and cross-regional teams).
• Experience in working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds in matrix organizations.
