JOB OVERVIEW:

Plans, directs and coordinates human resource management activities at the professional level to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as team member compensation, benefits, recruitment, personnel policies and procedures, training and regulatory compliance. Acts as internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues. Responsible for management of staff as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a link between management and TSMs by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems and administering disciplinary procedures. Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as EEO and sexual harassment, and recommends needed changes. Advises HR management on the plans and strategies of assigned client areas. Creates and implements appropriate support as needed including but not limited to coaching, counseling, staff changes, etc.
  • Creates or assists in the development of various human resource plans and processes. Administers compensation, benefits, performance management systems, and safety and community service programs. Provides current and prospective TSMs with information about policies, job duties, compensation, TSM development and benefits. Plans and conducts new TSM orientation to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives. Develops and maintains positive rapport with TSM's at all levels. Participates in departmental team meetings and advises departments on HR related events and plans. Represents and fosters the Henry Schein spirit in all day to day activities.
  • Plans, directs, supervises and coordinates work activities of staff relating to all HR responsibilities and functions. Assists HR team in creating and communicating training programs, compensation planning and benefit updates as required. May assist in administrative support of processes including but not limited to: job descriptions, recruitment, compensation evaluations, policies, reporting, etc. Monitors career path programs for self and assists staff with their development needs by coaching, mentoring or otherwise assisting others to improve their knowledge or skills. Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring and promoting TSMs within the organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining EEO compliance and assists in Affirmative Action plan efforts.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • 8 - 10+ years Human Resource experience, 5+ in a supervisory or management function.
  • Excellent communication and management skills. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, human resource modeling, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources. Adept at all HR competencies i.e. compensation, benefits, employee relations, negotiations and employment law. Knowledge of HR/Personnel practices and principles; able to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards, and ability to confidently handle sensitive or emergency situations. Good planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, human relations and organizational skills. Solid understanding of technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required. Previous experience with integrated payroll/HRIS system helpful.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in HR or business-related field preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 1 or more years of management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $95,990 to $167,983 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
