We're looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Birchwood (Warrington). You'll be responsible for route planning across our UK & ensuring that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.

You'll work on a Monday - Friday basis, working the hours from 6am-3pm

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Track daily deliveries using the in-house vehicle tracking systems
  • Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers ,vehicles, trailers, customer deliveries & trunking and backhaul.
  • Work closely with the operations to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to support the transport requirement.
  • Communicate and share efficient and customer focused plans with the local transport teams in a timely fashion.
  • Work with approved hauliers to ensure coverage of work at the best value for money rates.
  • Control and plan operational deliveries requirements & alterations

What you need to succeed at GXO
  • Experience of working in a transport environment, ideally within Transport Planning
  • Knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph
  • Good geographical experience required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience developing relationships with customers and colleagues
