Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $160,300.00 to $267,100.00.

Position Details:
Responsible for business performance that is consistent with the Company's strategic direction along with the business development and growth of an assigned region of the country. Participates in the creation and execution of sales and marketing strategies ensuring there is alignment with cross functional partners. This position is responsible for managing approximately $400 - $450 million in business with direct responsibility for over 140 sales employees (about 12 District Sales Managers and 130 Account Managers).
You Will:
- Generate profitable sales growth within the region. Prioritize resources against the largest opportunities for the team. Achieve regional growth and profitability goals by assigning optimal regional/district sales growth targets. Optimize sales force size, structure, and alignment to maximize sales force productivity. Select, coach, retain, and inspire District Sales Managers in the region. Participate in creation of talent development plans.
- Provide sales leadership and demonstrate understanding of district/region sales environment and issues, e.g., growth prospects, sales force turnover, etc. Participate in the creation of sales and marketing strategies ensuring that there is alignment with the Grainger branch organization, which serves the day to day needs of our customers.
- Align, plan, and coordinate with partner organization leadership to insure successful delivery on customer commitments - i.e. Branches, Service Centers, Distribution Centers, Implementation Team, National Accounts. Collaborate with cross functional partners internally to maintain key customer relationships.
- Create and implement customer attraction and retention programs in the region. Assist District Sales Managers in their understanding and commitment to live the Grainger Principles.
You Have:
- An undergraduate degree, MBA preferred. Requires an in-depth knowledge of sales strategy and marketing, customers and their requirements, and the competitive environment. Knowledge is required of the legal and regulatory issues which impact the business.
- Strong leadership skills are critical to manage a diverse and geographically dispersed sales team. Ability to coach and counsel highly performing teams. Must be skilled in identifying leadership potential and creating opportunities for developing the potential. Strength in cross - functional resource allocation and utilization.
- Ability to be a change agent and encourage breakthrough thinking. Must be results driven and be a proactive program sponsor to align regional business goals and objectives.
- Financial skills are essential to create and analyze business strategies, cost/budgets, and economic earnings. Must have excellent presentation skills.
- Extensive travel required. Reports to the Functional Vice President of Sales. The Regional Sales Vice Presidents work as a team in the creation and execution of sales.
