Job Description Summary

The Platform Technical Lead (PTL) will work closely with the Product Engineering and Product Line to help define and drive understanding of new platform requirements. Once the platform requirements are documented, the PTL will provide technical direction to the product engineering team to deliver the new platform, meeting all requirements, and at a pace that meets market expectations. The PTL will be responsible to meeting the requirements and ensuring consistent communication with all stakeholders on progress/risks/challenges of the development effort

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support Requirements Management: Collaborate with senior engineers to translate product needs for power inverter systems into practical solutions. Research and propose options that consider technical limitations of components, project timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Concept Design Analysis: Analyze various design ideas for power inverter systems across their lifecycle (design, manufacturing, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal). Evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of these concepts to identify the most promising options.
  • Implementation Support: Assist with technical planning for power inverter systems. This includes analyzing trade-offs for different subsystems, developing plans to verify and test the system's functionality, and contributing to cost and risk management efforts.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work effectively with engineers from various teams and suppliers. Ensure everyone involved meets established goals for cost, quality, and project timelines. Identify and help resolve any compatibility issues that arise between different parts of the power inverter system as requirements or designs evolve.
  • Product Validation Support: Participate in planning and conducting tests on the first production units of the power inverter system. Assist in identifying and resolving any problems that emerge during testing. Share the lessons learned with other teams working on new product development and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Following Established Processes: Learn and adhere to the standard procedures at GE for designing and developing new products.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Help develop, review, and ensure the accuracy of documents related to the quality of power inverter systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Statistics or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant technical/product roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with inverter-based systems.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of the battery energy storage market.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment that utilize design thinking, lean start up and agile delivery approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written. Ability to explain highly technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate at all levels, and work across a global organization.

The salary range for this position is 98,400.00 - 131,200.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 98,400.00 - 131,200.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual
