As the Engineering Leader for CDP, you’ll be out front, driving the shift to an onchain world by creating the developer tools and culture that power onchain innovation. You’ll be setting the pace, shaping a dynamic team and an ecosystem where building onchain isn’t just seamless—it’s the standard.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead with an Onchain Vision: Grow and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, cultivating a culture rooted in onchain innovation that is committed to creating exceptional developer experiences.
- Developer-Driven Culture: Foster a culture where developer satisfaction is paramount, focusing on APIs, SDKs, documentation, and seamless integration pathways that set the standard for onchain tooling.
- Team Empowerment: Drive full-cycle talent development, from recruitment and onboarding of onchain talent to mentorship and career growth, fostering an environment where engineers rise to the challenge and embrace an intense culture
- Technical Innovation: Help lead the way with technical innovations that push our industry and onchain users forward.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with product, UX, and cross-functional teams to drive a compelling vision and roadmap for our onchain developer tools.
- Technical Leadership: Establish a clear technical direction and roadmap, ensuring a robust, scalable architecture and agile processes that empower our team to deliver quality, reliability, and speed.
- Raise the Bar: Continually elevate our customer experience, setting high standards for usability and simplicity in our developer offerings.
- Operational Excellence: Implement metrics and systems for operational efficiency, ensuring our development processes are world-class and production-ready.
What We’re Looking For
- Onchain Product Leadership: A track record of building successful onchain products, with an understanding of the unique challenges facing developers and the ability to attract top onchain-native talent.
- Onchain-Forward Mindset: You bring a strong understanding of onchain development, challenges, and ecosystem needs, with a dedication to empowering developers at scale.
- Proven Leadership in Dynamic Environments: 5+ years managing large, complex engineering teams (30+ employees), and 5+ years leading technical managers or senior engineering managers.
- Extensive Builder Experience: 10+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services, with a strong track record of delivering high-impact, scalable solutions.
- Startup Culture: You bring the intensity and focus of a startup environment, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on contributions as needed in fast-paced, high-stakes projects.
- Technical and Analytical Excellence: You have a sharp analytical mindset, an unwavering sense of accountability, and hands-on technical skills that enable you to guide and challenge your team.
- Deep Business and Product Insight: You understand Coinbase’s business priorities and can translate them into an impactful engineering strategy that drives both business and developer outcomes.
- Developer-Centric Mindset: Experience leading teams that focus on delivering exceptional developer experiences through robust APIs, SDKs, and clear, comprehensive documentation.
Nice-to-Haves
- Broad Tech Stack Experience: Familiarity with Javascript, Ruby on Rails, Go, AWS, and React, as well as an understanding of how these tools can be used to build effective onchain solutions.
- Background in High-Growth Startups: Experience in fast-paced, pre-product fit environments.
