Roles and Responsibilities
The EHS Engineer will collaborate closely with the EHS Leader to support the development and implementation of an environmental, health, and safety communication program aimed at fostering the site's EHS culture. Additionally, this role will implement the GE Aerospace Ergonomic program in collaboration with the Site Medical Service, drive the execution of the Teleworking program according to GEIQ policy and NON-STPS-037, and execute the EHS training program using local systems (GE Learning) while creating content in accordance with applicable local regulations. The EHS Engineer will be knowledgeable about GE Aerospace Requirements and Standards and will support their implementation by collaborating with on-site contractors.

Primary responsibilities of the EHS Engineer include:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify opportunities for robust trainings needs, defenses, etc.
- Perform audits and inspections to identify and address EHS risks
- Promote a safety culture through a communication plan and the creation of programs that encourage employee engagement.
- Address government and business audits.
- Maintain and apply current environmental, health, and safety policies and process.
- Review plans and specifications for new site activities to define defenses and countermeasures.
- Review and follow up EHS Concerns reported by employees.
- Report and review findings from incident investigations, facility inspections or events.
- Participate in incident investigation process.
- Assist as part of the emergency response team.
- Write and update EHS plans and procedures
- Maintain and update Standard Operations Procedures as necessary for all safe work practices and equipment, and ensuring their implementation and daily practice.
- Attend training sessions and workshops for further education.
- Create and adjust EHS policies as needed, along with deploying communication strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Knowledge in STPS NOMS - in Industrial Hygiene and Safety, SEMARNAT, SEDESU NOMS, EHS regulations and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in MS office.
- Strong communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Systemic-thinking skills, with the ability to identify workplace hazards before they cause effects, and apply problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on all issues related to the position.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience overseeing third party consultants/contractors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in time management, organization, and basic project management.
- Ability to statistically analyze data and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
