The Role
The Philanthropic Practice Consultant role is critical in accomplishing the fundraising and distribution goals of increasing contributions and new accounts by building new relationships and managing existing relationships with a vast network of financial advisors, attorneys, and accountants.
The Expertise and Skills You Have
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong knowledge of the financial advisor industry and financial planning experience
- Fundraising, sales, or relationship management experience is beneficial.
- Proven track record of being intellectually curious and driven to constantly improve.
- A dynamic personality with a high level of passion and motivation to achieve goals.
- High aptitude to learn new ideas and skills quickly while constantly adapting to new situations.
- Commitment to constant self-improvement and exhibit a competitive drive.
- Comfortable making outbound phone calls to educate financial advisors on the impact of donor advised funds and the importance of charitable planning.
- A competitive drive and resiliency to execute your goals every single day.
- Proven ability to hunt continuously for new prospects and opportunities.
- Effective time management skills to balance deal work, proactive fundraising activity, various campaigns, and personal development.
- Motivated toward success, willing to demonstrate ownership and committed to achieving meaningful goals.
- Well versed in the consultative selling approach better understand the needs of the advisors.
- Ability to build strong relationships with advisors in order to influence and drive to fundraising goals over the phone.
- Prospecting effectively to build out our network of professional advisors and discovering new fundraising opportunities through consultative conversations.
- Showcasing your expertise in the various programs, services, and benefits of a donor advised fund to bring the very best of Fidelity Charitable to each conversation.
- Acting as a charitable planning expert and resource to prospective donors and advisors to further our mission of making charitable giving accessible, simple, and effective.
- Increasing contributions and new accounts in your territory through proactive relationship building and showcasing strong charitable planning acumen.

The Team
The Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund ('Fidelity Charitable') is a public charity that sponsors the largest national donor-advised fund program. Since 1991, Fidelity Charitable has introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits - and increased charitable impact - of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals. Fidelity Charitable is governed by an independent Board of Trustees, which has hired Fidelity Investments as the service provider to the charity. Fidelity Investments provides all of the charitable organization's employees and supports all of its functions: Program Development, Marketing, Service Delivery, Relationship Management, Finance, Technology, Risk and Compliance, and Fundraising and Distribution.
As a Philanthropic Practice Consultant your primary responsibility will be to have consultative conversations with financial advisors and prospective donors to provide valuable charitable planning ideas and help donors increase their charitable impact with donor advised funds.
Being part of the Philanthropic Practice Consultant team means being an important part of the Fidelity Charitable Fundraising and Distribution Team. In your role as a PPC, you will partner closely with your field partner, a Charitable Planning Consultant, as well as various business units within Fidelity Charitable to deliver unique charitable planning solutions to advisors and donors in your territory.

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture.
