Program Manager - Security Design Standards
Job Summary: As a Program Manager of Security design standards, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation that aligns with security standards. Produces comprehensive documentation for technical and non-technical users, meets deadlines, gathers feedback, collaborates with teams, and maintains documentation quality. Data Centers support hospitals, laboratories, and public safety centers, so it's crucial that they always remain highly security.
Responsibilities:
Technical Author
- Create and maintain a high-quality standard in all security-related documentation, ensuring it is error-free and consistent in style and formatting.
- Produce documentation that accurately and comprehensively covers security-related topics, ensuring no critical information is omitted that is understandable for technical and non-technical users.
- Meet deadlines for delivering security-related documentation.
- Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness and usefulness of the security documentation.
- Yearly review and update security documentation to reflect security standards, technologies, or best practices changes.
- Effectively collaborate with security teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy of the documentation.
- Provide recommendations for improvement based on research, including new tools, processes, and technologies.
- Provide process and system guidance to Operations teams that install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the organization's security systems.
- Maintains current knowledge concerning relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems, including life cycle analysis.
- Supports and provides input/guidance on design engineering and project planning for new Data Centers and the expansion of existing sites.
Project Management
- Responsible for coordinating and completing security projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring, budgeting, and summarizing the project's progress.
- Facilitates projects by conducting meetings, recording meeting minutes/action items, and performing thorough follow-ups.
Process Engineering
- Serves as a content contributor to security systems standards, design guidelines, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collect recommendations/input from cross-functional groups to keep SOPs current.
- Adheres to publishing procedures to ensure all documentation is deployed according to established change control processes.
Design Engineering
- Recommends alterations to design, development, implementation, and analysis to improve the quality of products, new technologies, procedures, and efficiencies.
- Provide drawing reviews of both internal and cross-functional designs.
CAD/Revit Systems
- A strong command of the software tools and features is essential for efficient and accurate editing.
- A solid understanding of technical drawing principles, drafting standards, and building codes is necessary for producing high-quality work.
- The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, software updates, and new CAD or Revit editing technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or at least 4 years' experience in security systems installation/management.
- A working knowledge of Revit is required for this role.
- Understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and a positive team player with a demonstrated ability to provide adequate oversight and systems management, development, and follow-up to prompt closure on security initiatives, plans, and solutions.
- Requires the ability to perform physical tasks to complete special projects within a Data Center environment.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel to various Equinix operating sites in the US, Canada, Central, and South America for up to a week based on project needs.
Bonus if you have:
- Knowledge of security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, Telecommunications, and Data Centers.
- PSP, CPP, or PMP.
