Location: Hybrid, Melville (preferred) or NYC office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Placement Strategist: Specialize in commercial insurance lines within the construction sector (open training on constuction secotr). .
• Team Collaboration: Work with the Northeast Construction & Surety Practice team to place new business and manage renewals for trade contractors, general contractors, heavy civil contractors, and project owners in the Northeast, primarily Metro NY.

• Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, policy conditions, and terms with underwriters. Review all quotations and recommend the best options for price, coverage, risk alternatives, and agency income.
• Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and carrier representatives, both standard and wholesale.
• Market Knowledge: Stay informed about the current marketplace and new capabilities for providing risk alternatives. Communicate these to Producers.
• Submission Facilitation: Prepare complete submissions, including supplemental applications, loss runs, COPE spreadsheets, historical data, and other supporting documentation.
• Proposal Analysis: Analyze and review proposals with Producers, making recommendations for the most cost-effective and appropriate insurance coverage.
• Policy Binding: Bind coverage within company guidelines, maintain accurate and complete files on all policies written, and update the system.
• Meetings and Calls: Attend carrier meetings and accompany producers on business calls as needed.
• Team Contribution: Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results.

• Insurance Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Property Casualty lines of coverage and services.

• Analytical Skills: Analyze situations logically to draw solid conclusions.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, and coverages.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in navigating the Internet and using Microsoft Office programs, including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, and PowerPoint.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
• Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
• Teamwork and Independence: Work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
• Professionalism: Project a professional image in action and appearance.
• Interpersonal Skills: Handle sensitive and confidential situations with high-level interpersonal skills.
• Travel: Ability to travel within the region for company functions, carrier events, and prospect/client meetings.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred.
• Construction Accounts Experience: Previous experience working on construction accounts, especially in the Metro NY region, preferred.
• Insurance Proficiency: Technical proficiency in insurance policy terms and conditions.
• Marketing Experience: Prefer 3-5 years of marketing or related experience in an agency, brokerage, or insurance carrier setting.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Broker’s License: Active NY or NJ Broker’s license required.

The national average salary for this role is $100,000 to $115,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
