Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence, Digital Engineering group is currently seeking a Lead Engineer - Digital Engineering to join our team.
Position Overview:

The Lead Engineer - Digital Engineering will support the execution of both Eaton and US government-funded programs that explore the use of digital technologies to transform the future of our industry.

She/he will implement digital engineering strategies by integrating machine learning, numerical and analytical models, and computational frameworks to meet various business needs. Outcomes include accelerating product lifecycle management efforts, including product design, manufacturing, inspection, prognostics and health management, and digital twins.

In this role you will:
• Develop high-fidelity models using CAE tools including ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB Simulink, or similar software applications.
• Apply AI and Machine Learning to create surrogate models for PHM and digital twin.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and simulation engineers to develop end-to-end solutions.
• Lead virtual verification & validation efforts.
• Author procedures, guidelines, and best practices to support organic growth and adoption of digital engineering across the enterprise.
Relocation assistance to Southfield, Michigan within the US only is available for a qualified candidate.
Hybrid role allows working remote 2 days a week. Must be on-site at our Southfield, Michigan 3 days a week.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Master's or PhD in an engineering discipline, computer science or related area from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of industry experience in the aerospace, automotive or electrical components and systems design.
• 3+ years of experience in advanced modeling & simulation, optimization, and automation using CAE analysis packages such as ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB, among others.
• Computing skills and experience in the use of Python as well as CAE programming languages.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
• PhD in an engineering discipline, computer science or related area.
• Engineering Project experience using AI / ML to solve engineering problems.
• Proficiency with multiple programming language (e.g., Python, VBA, Java, Angular)
