Job Description:

Manage Eaton's Brightlayer User Interface platform and contribute full-stack user experience design to mobile, web, and embedded device experiences as a member of the Human-Centered Design Center of Excellence. Maintain and develop the user experience of design system across discrete components and complex workflows. Own and maintain the processes for ensuring consistency of digital products across enterprise portfolio and ensuring that all teams are applying our design system consistently. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and marketing, to ensure that UX best practices and our design system is being used effectively. Define and implement the company's digital design system vision, incorporating user-centered design principles and the latest trends and best practices in UX and Product Design. Ensure an efficient and effective design process within scope of responsibility, delivering high-quality work that meets user needs and expectations. Incorporate empathy and user understanding into the design process, creating intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically appealing products rooted in qualitative and quantitative research. Inspire and elevate the level of craft within the design team by leading regular design critiques and ideation sessions. Own the roadmap for Eaton's Design System. Manage workload effectively by prioritizing assignments and delegating work. Lead continuous improvement of the design systems. Develop our junior UX staff and interns into well-rounded, pragmatic designers that can work effectively in a complex business environment. Position is fixed location based in Moon Township, PA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be permitted. International and Domestic travel up to 25% for user research and internal meetings.

Skills:

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Human-Computer Interaction, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience in digital user experience design and digital strategy. Experience must include:

Four (4) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
• Building, maintaining, and governing digital design systems.
• Planning and facilitating Design Thinking workshops to align teams on user needs and establish clear design-requirements for products.
• Building design systems at large, matrixed, multi-national businesses with divergent use cases.
• Software and hardware product development processes and technologies.
• Experience on consumer facing (B2C) and business to business (B2B) native app and web app experiences.
• Agile software development, Scaled Agile Framework, and contemporary UX and Dev Ops best practices.
• Experience with React, React Native, and Angular.
• Experience applying Google Material Design System to product.

Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
• Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) products and design-systems for HMI's.

Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and universal design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Miro.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
