About the Role

The Director, Accounting will be a key leader in the Controllership organization and will partner closely with global teams across the company, including Revenue Accounting, External Reporting & Technical Accounting, FP&A, and People Operations. This opportunity will allow you to be an influential leader and cross functional partner to contribute meaningfully and drive results across various initiatives in an exciting, fast-paced, high growth SaaS organization; this role will also be responsible for process transformations through process improvements and system automation efforts related to corporate accounting, accounts payables and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Manage global consolidation and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting closes


• Provide planning, direction and coordination of accounting operational functions


• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce time to close and improve accuracy of underlying accounting records


• Provide daily leadership and guidance to the Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams through coaching and mentoring


• Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems


• Ensure accounting systems are stable and scalable to support the accurate and timely reporting of financial data


• Design, implement, and maintain effective global accounting processes, policies, and procedures


• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with US GAAP


• Manage quarterly and annual audits by interfacing with auditors and ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules related to financial audits. Liaise with external auditor on audit matters


• Implement, maintain and execute SOX controls for immediate areas of responsibilities (Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Pay, Record-to-Report)


• Perform technical accounting research and prepare technical accounting memos to support position


• Support internal and external reporting requests, including quarterly reporting metrics and disclosure schedules


• Contribute to the development of accounting solutions for enterprise projects, new product offerings and process simplification and improvements


• Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training, and success in the accounting organization

Qualifications

• 12+ years of accounting experience with at least 5 years in leadership or management positions in an accounting organization


• CPA required, with Big Four public accounting experience, BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting and strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP


• Multi-national public company experience is a must, preferably in the SaaS or Telecommunication industry


• Experience with Netsuite is strongly preferred


• Proven ability to identify and drive process and system improvements


• Ability to lead and mentor but also roll up sleeves and be a team player


• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills


• Energetic and positive attitude


• Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization and across functions
