DM Focus, On & Off Premise Support

Location: Field Based - Nashville, TN
Context/Scope:
The Market Specialists are tasked with representing Diageo's Non-Alcoholic Brands (DNAB) portfolio in the on and off trade. This role will have more focus on managing relationships with distributors within their region to ensure the effective distribution and sales of DNAB brands and will also support driving sales and growth of the brands in both on and off premise venues. This role involves developing strong relationships with venue owners and managers, executing promotional activities, and ensuring effective merchandising of DNAB brands.
Financial/People Leadership:
The Market Specialists do not have direct reports although manage distributor accountability.
Accountabilities:
- Distributor execution management through ride alongs and market visits to address any issues or concerns as well as identify new areas of opportunities to build and educate consumers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for distributors, addressing any issues or concerns.
- Works towards Sales Metrics KPIs for excellence in execution
- Analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for DNAB Brand growth.
- Participate in GSM and QBR Meetings helping to bring to life their market data to multiple levels of leadership through deck and verbal presentations.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets in on- and off-premise channels.
- Execute sales plans and align with overall brand objectives with distributor management partnerships.
- Educate and build key relationships with bartenders and front-line representation of the brands.
- Identify opportunities to increase product distribution and visibility in key accounts.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships for respective local market.
- Build relationships with other Diageo commercial stakeholders to ensure connectivity and opportunities to amplify presence in all retail outlets.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends & opportunities growth by preparing regular reports on campaign performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Ensure compliance all relevant regulations/company policies in all activities.
- Maintain accurate records/documentation related distributor activities/results.
- Manage budgets related distribution initiatives/projects by tracking expenses against budgeted amounts ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- 3+ years of experience in sales or distribution management within FMCG or beverage industry.
- Proven track record in managing distributor relationships and achieving sales targets.
- Ability to engage, influence and coordinate wholesalers and distributors.
- Self-starter with strong ability to influence with data and fact-based selling strategies. Expertise in various POS data, including IRI and Chain-related category data.
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives with excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
