DaVita is currently seeking a Senior Director to join and lead its Technology Finance team. This role would report to the Group Vice President of Finance and partner directly with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Chief Product Officer (CPO), as well as their core team of Technology leaders. This teammate will be responsible for Technology portfolio and product management, validating business cases for investments, and partnering with senior leaders to drive innovation through technological applications. The role will be based out of Denver , Colorado and require some intermittent travel (10%). Relocation candidates will be considered.

Key Competencies to be Successful in this Role

Overall
  • Strategic Senior Finance executive supporting Technology and Product VPs / CIO/CPO with joint P&L ownership/accountability
  • Liaison between IT and Corporate Finance, including Capital Strategy and Corporate FP&A workstreams
  • Proven technology finance experience working in a product operating model for at least five years
Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a team consisting of a FP&A Sr. Manager plus multiple analysts
  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, & provide regular performance feedback
  • Train and coach leaders on effectively managing a P&L inclusive but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision making to drive business performance & operational excellence; comfortable leading Finance training sessions (virtual and in-person)
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
  • Thought Leader: proactively identify trends in financial results through analyses of financial results, variance to budget, tracking to forecast, etc. on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Process leader: drive accountability to action plans committed by the IT & product leadership team and corporate partners
  • Monitor Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and identify areas for improvement, with a focus on enhancing Operational efficiency, driving Innovation and investing for impact
  • Investment governance: lead discussions around new projects, business case development, pressure test forecasted contribution, and follow through with project team on value realization
  • Technology leader: experience with cloud deployments, software development, ERP/EHR implementations, AI and emerging technology planning
  • Direct experience working with technology software vendors
  • Ability to lead all aspects of the Annual Budget process, including multi-year outlook
  • Ability to stretch "up" and "down" in responsibilities as needed
Business Advisory / Consulting
  • Capital Deployment: partner with operational leads to build financial modeling for growth plans
  • Innovation & Process improvement: ability to step out of Finance Lane and improve existing operational processes by analyzing current workflows, designing new methods, implementing technological solutions, and monitoring results to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance
  • Leverage Best Demonstrated practices developed within the Corporate Finance Lane to scale across IT and Product organizations
Project Management
  • Project Planning: can clearly define problem statement & objectives with a detailed timeline & scope required
  • Stakeholder Management: establishing clear communication channels and expectations; provides interval updates on progress
  • Time Management: can manage and prioritize multiple projects for competing internal clients
  • Ownership and accountability for the timely delivery of analyses and the quality of the final work product
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Information Technology experience required
  • 10 years in similar Technology Finance with increasing leadership responsibilities
    • Demonstrable knowledge of financial statements, the relationships among them and the underlying business operations they represent
    • Experience with quantitative modeling and analytical methods, such as operations analytics, financial forecasting, valuation analyses, etc.
  • Project management experience
  • Superior communication skills & executive presence
  • Superior analytical abilities combined with a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Expert level computer skills & proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel (expert), PowerPoint (advanced), Word and Outlook (intermediate)
  • Tableau, Oracle/Essbase, and Anaplan experience preferred
