Join Fortune 7 CVS Health as a Director of API Dev and Platform within the Aetna Enterprise Integrations (AEI) organization. In this role, you will be a critical technical leader who is responsible for leading teams in delivering APIs, micro services and middleware-based applications. You will be a deep technical thinker with experience driving transformational changes, delivering innovative solutions, and achieving efficient and effective delivery. You will also possess extensive API engineering and multi API platform experience. You will lead teams in end-to-end API delivery, operationalizing new technologies and practices, strengthening automation and DevOps, and drive stability. You have demonstrated your passion for technology through your achievements and led large transformation programs in the past.In addition to deep technical skills, you will have led teams in delivery that include Software Engineers, QA automation engineers, Product Managers and Business Analysts. - Technical Leader in integration practices and end-to-end delivery using various API platforms such as IBM APIC, Kong, Boomi, MuleSoft etc. IBM APIC experience will be a plus.
- Lead day to day API development and the Aetna Enterprise API platforms end-to-end, from strategy through execution. The role involves both delivery and operational management of multiple Enterprise API Platforms.
- Mentor engineering team to strengthen engineering expertise, contribute to a positive and supportive culture, encourage innovation, and to drive continuous improvements.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks in conjunction with peers and other leaders within the organization including infrastructure teams.
- Guides work prioritization in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Monitor and optimize performance, identifying opportunities for enhancement and addressing any issues or bottlenecks.
- Builds relationships with partners, vendors, teams, and customers
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in middleware and integration technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners to ensure efficient delivery of engineering solutions and services.
- Collaborate closely with other IT teams, business units and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
- Communication ability to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- 10+ years in software engineering end-to-end delivery
- 10+ years in various Integration Technologies, Microservices and Middleware development
- 5+ years of total experience in API platforms such as IBM APIC, Kong, Boomi, Mulesoft etc
- Strong experience in IBM IIB/ACE, Java Microservices, or related technologies such as Oracle SOA
- Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies (Azure, GCP), engineering frameworks and tools
- Health insurance industry experience with deep understanding of health care value chain
- Experience delivering in Agile, SAFE, Kanban, and Lean practices
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
The typical pay range for this role is:$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
