DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Test Readiness : By preparing test articles, including initial build and final teardown, you will ensure that all test components are ready and meet the required standards.
  • Accurate Instrumentation : Installing instrumentation into test articles per engineering standards will guarantee precise data collection and reliable test results.
  • Support Testing Procedures : Assisting in testing according to established procedures will help maintain consistency and accuracy in test methodologies.
  • Efficient Test Preparation : Preparing test articles and associated fixtures, rigs, and equipment will streamline the testing process and reduce downtime.
  • Validate Test Equipment : Demonstrating an understanding of test equipment functions will ensure the validity and reliability of test results.
  • Product Knowledge : Your knowledge of the product under test will allow you to assess its contribution to the test results, ensuring accurate and meaningful outcomes.
  • Maintain Lab Equipment : Performing test stand installation, troubleshooting, setups, and maintenance will keep laboratory equipment in optimal condition, supporting ongoing testing activities.
  • Versatile Contributions : Performing other duties as required will showcase your adaptability and willingness to support various aspects of the testing process.

  • Design Test Systems : Interpret test equipment specifications, select and integrate appropriate equipment, and assess lab equipment capabilities to meet test requirements.
  • Set Up Tests Efficiently : Interpret test plans to determine optimal test setup, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Build Test Articles : Assemble test articles according to requirements, ensuring they are properly instrumented and ready for functional testing.
  • Maintain Equipment : Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure continuous improvement and reliability of lab equipment.
  • Ensure Data Quality : Identify and correct data flaws to support effective information governance and decision-making.
  • Solve Problems Systematically : Use systematic analysis processes to solve problems, mentor others, and implement robust, data-based solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Value Differences : Recognize and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives and cultures, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Prefer some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

This position is for Second Shift (2pm to 10pm CST)

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
  • Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines and Aftertreatment Components preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computers and computer programs preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to multitask many projects or assignments at the same time
