We are looking for a talented Product Functional Test Mechanical Technician to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.
Job Summary:
Prepares test articles for test, including initial build and final teardown. Responsible for installing instrumentation into test articles per relevant engineering standards.

• Validate Test Equipment: Your understanding of test equipment functions will ensure that the equipment contributes accurately to the validity of test results.
• Product Knowledge: Demonstrating knowledge of the product under test will allow you to assess its contribution to the validity of test results, ensuring comprehensive evaluations.
• Troubleshooting Expertise: Performing test stand installations, troubleshooting, and setups will minimize downtime and enhance the efficiency of testing operations.
• Maintenance Skills: Upkeeping and maintaining laboratory equipment will ensure that all tools and machines are in optimal working condition, reducing the risk of test interruptions.
• Adaptability: Performing other duties as required will showcase your flexibility and willingness to support various aspects of the testing process.

• Build Test Articles: Assemble test articles according to requirements, ensuring they can successfully undergo functional tests.
• Maintain Equipment: Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance strategies based on machine and tool maintenance records to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure Data Quality: Identify and correct data flaws to support effective information governance and decision-making.
• Solve Problems Systematically: Use industry-standard methodologies to solve problems, mentor others, and implement robust, data-based solutions to prevent recurrence.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
• Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
• Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Compensation (for United States)
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The
final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's
qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Core Responsibilities or Activities:
• Conduct acoustic testing and noise measurement in a hemi-anechoic chamber, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Perform calibration and maintenance of acoustic measurement equipment, such as microphones, sound level meters, and data acquisition systems.
• Work with appropriate material handling equipment as forklifts, hoists to move in the gensets and equipment and set it up in the testing chamber for electrical load and exhaust connections with required microphones and measurement equipment for noise measurement.
Skill, Education, or Experience (Preferred):
• Experience working in a hemi-anechoic chamber or a similar controlled testing environment.
• Familiarity with ISO or ANSI standards for noise and vibration testing.
