DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Performs routine and repetitive tests, set-ups, and calibrations in support of Instrumentation Engineering activities. This role requires troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various test systems and equipment while ensuring high-quality data and compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine and repetitive tests, set-ups, and calibrations.
  • Installs terminals, fabricates, and assembles electronic systems and test cells.
  • Constructs and installs test cell harnesses, rigs, and fixtures.
  • Completes minor mechanical system assemblies and troubleshooting.
  • Installs, calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs various measurement devices, including gauges, transducers, smoke meters, and fuel systems.
  • Operates less complex data acquisition systems under direction.
  • Utilizes tools such as digital multimeters, soldering irons, and frequency generators.
  • Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams to execute projects accurately.
  • Executes written test plans, compiles data, and prepares test result reports.
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Participates in maintaining quality procedures and supports improvement projects.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Performs troubleshooting, calibrations, and maintenance of measuring equipment as per schedule.
  • Maintains equipment inventory, calibration records, and supports NABL accreditation activities.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment by following 5S standards.

  • Test System Design: Integrates appropriate equipment, instrumentation, and software for functional testing.
  • Test Setup and Configuration: Prepares and fabricates systems for optimal testing and ensures safety compliance.
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champions proactive health and safety behaviors.
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance: Develops strategies to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Action-Oriented: Tackles challenges with urgency and energy.
  • Communicates Effectively: Tailors communication for various audiences.
  • Decision Quality: Makes timely, effective decisions to drive progress.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education in a STEM field is required.
  • Regionally applicable certification or a two-year associate's degree in a relevant field may be required.
  • Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be necessary.

Experience:

  • Intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment handling, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with NABL, ISO 9001:2015, IATF, MSA, and MUA standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills:

  • Supplier management and collaboration.
  • Execution of internal and external calibrations for measuring equipment (e.g., temperature, pressure, fuel measurement units).
  • Calibration report maintenance and data quality assurance.
  • Inventory management for equipment and lab supplies.
  • Familiarity with tools like FTA or 7-step problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong basics in instrumentation, electronic systems, and engine testing.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with measuring equipment.
  • Supports operation across three shifts as needed.
  • Ensures data quality and accuracy during testing.
  • Improves uptime of reference master's and ensures equipment readiness.
