We are looking for a talented Operations Excellence Specialist- Senior to join our team in Forest City, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Operations Excellence : By applying your knowledge of Operations Excellence principles and practices, you'll drive improvements and efficiencies within Cummins.
- Continuous Improvement : Utilizing continuous improvement tools and following Cummins standards, you'll enhance manufacturing standards and working methods.
- Stakeholder Communication : Leading communications with key stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members will ensure alignment and influence positive change.
- Relationship Building : Maintaining and coaching relationships with key stakeholders will foster collaboration and support for initiatives.
- Goal Coordination : Collaborating to create plant maturity goals will align efforts across business leaders, functional leaders, and process owners.
- Strategy Execution : Executing the Corporate Operations Excellence Strategy and roadmap will help achieve plant maturity goals and drive overall success.
- Coaching and Mentorship : Coaching leaders to identify issues, develop improvement initiatives, and implement solutions will enhance organizational capabilities.
- Knowledge Sharing : Leading and participating in knowledge sharing will develop subject-matter expertise and champion continuous improvement across the plant.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience, team leadership experience, preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Core Responsibilities: Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement events. Drive plantwide 5S improvement activities and revamp 5S auditing process. Support in creating and maintaining standard work procedures for the facility.
Skill, Education, or Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an industrial or manufacturing field and 5 years of lean manufacturing experience, or 10+ years of lean manufacturing experience.
Skill, Education, or Experience Preferences: Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Lean Manufacturing degree preferred. Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen training preferred.
