The Systems & Process Optimization Team (SPOT) is a group of highly skilled individuals whose focus is on the continuous improvement of our operational processes, application functionality, and client experience. This role will manage the Pega application supporting Charles Schwab Trust Bank. Pega is a case management system used for workflow decisioning and automation. CSTB uses this system to manage business processes to provide scalable solutions to our clients. The Sr. Product Owner is responsible for leading efforts from concept to rollout, working within a Scrum team to oversee the entire software development lifecycle. They have primary ownership for planning, design, and implementation of new/existing features.

Our ideal candidate collaborates effectively with various stakeholders across the organization and thrives on understanding and streamlining business processes. This role is responsible for conveying to leaders and business partners alike, a clear vision for the platform. In addition, this role is responsible for owning the backlog, defining the roadmap, staying abreast of new functionality, and proactively solving problems that might affect delivery or production performance. The Sr. Product Owner will work directly with technology teams to improve and modernize the overall designs to manage business process workflow.

The Sr. Pega Product Owner will:

  • Lead a SAFe Agile team through PI Planning, solution design, writing and grooming Epics & User stories, UAT, end-user training, and implementation
  • Facilitate prioritization sessions with the business and leadership to build out feature priorities
  • Perform BSA activities to gather requirements, document process workflow, map data points, identify and solve for gaps, and perform analysis.
  • Continuously provide feedback from metrics, end-users, and stakeholders into recommendations for improving delivery and improving our Operational team's experience
  • Understand and articulate end-user pain points to design long-term scalable solutions
  • Partner with various RBS product owners to plan, design, and deliver end-to-end cross platform solutions
  • Build roadmaps aligned to strategic goals and organizational priorities while effectively managing stakeholder tradeoffs
  • Collaborate with technology partners to integrate tech driven work with our roadmap
  • Present regular readouts to leaders, stakeholders, and business partners on overall status and vision for the platform
  • Ensure the platform is successful in achieving its objectives in a timely fashion and defining ROI
  • Define the support requirements and application deployment/launch strategies to promote awareness and drive adoption

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Management or Product Owner role or 6+ years in a BSA role with Product Owner responsibilities
  • Experience with Workflow Management systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience with any of these applications are a plus: Pega, SEI Trust3000, SchwabRetirementCenter.com
  • Prior experience translating business processes into effective workflow management design
  • Successful history working with leadership, stakeholders, business partners, and technology teams
  • Experienced with product development/ownership and guiding the product lifecycle from requirements to implementation
  • Proven history of owning, planning, defining, and delivering an annual roadmap
  • Solid communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical topics
  • Effective relationship builder with the ability to work cross-functionally with various personality types
  • Meticulous, with strong analytic, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; high quality of work that adheres to all standards, regulatory and audit requirements
  • Excel in prioritizing daily functions and dealing with multiple deadlines and high volumes of work
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and strong working knowledge of SAFe Agile and SDLC methodologies
  • Passionately committed to providing a great client experience
  • A purposeful self-starter who can lead efforts with little or high-level direction
  • A strong collaborator who is outgoing, adaptable, and imaginative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in the retirement/trust/custody industry is strongly preferred
  • SAFe Agile POMP, BSA, Pega or other related certifications
  • Pega experience strongly preferred
