Role Summary:
Capital Fixed Income Investors (CFII) invests across fixed income markets with $450bn of assets under management. As the business continues to grow its fixed income capabilities, it is looking for a talented individual to join the team to provide analytical coverage across US-securitized credit and mortgages. Subject to successful completion of an investment review after an initial 4-6 months in the role, the individual would join the team as an analyst and investor in the Research Portfolios. The position could be based in Los Angeles or New York, depending on the preferences of the successful candidate.

Key relationships:
- CFII analysts, portfolio managers, traders, portfolio strategists, risk and quantitative solutions specialists, as well as distribution teams.
- Will report into one of the Fixed Income Research Directors
"I am the person Capital Group is looking for"
- You provide relative value asset allocation research across the securitized credit and mortgage sectors. This includes the ABS, CMBS, agency MBS, non-agency RMBS, and CLO markets.
- You produce primary research on assets across the credit ratings spectrum. Research process will incorporate market realities such as scalability and sourcing, market liquidity and secondary market opportunities as they arise.
- You make investment recommendations to portfolio managers, leveraging the views of CFII securitized credit, rates and mortgage analysts.
- You independently manage an investment portfolio. Portfolio construction process will focus on top-down investment ideas.
Qualifications:
- You have a track record of working effectively in a team environment. Candidates will be comfortable collaborating with a range of internal stakeholders.
- You have a minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates will have experience in fixed income in a strategist, trading, risk management, or research role.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates will be comfortable presenting research in a variety of different ways, including through thematic reports, weekly briefings and oral presentations.
- You have excellent academic qualifications. Candidates will have a strong academic background, with a bachelor's degree and ideally, a relevant post-graduate qualification (eg, MBA, CFA, MS in Finance/Economics).

Los Angeles and New York Base Salary Range minimum and maximum:
$140,000 - $320,000
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
