A successful Data Center Analyst is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all equipment within Broadridge's data center environments. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of servers, networking equipment, and other IT infrastructure that supports business-critical applications and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, checking cables, and ensuring proper airflow and cooling.

- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using various tools and dashboards.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including server failures, network outages, or storage problems.
- Respond to alerts from monitoring systems in real-time to prevent or minimize downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues to implement permanent fixes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, maintenance activities, and incident responses.
- Update operational procedures and system diagrams to reflect current states.
- Ensure all operations comply with security policies, including physical security of the data center.
- Participate in security audits and implement security measures as required.
- Track inventory of hardware assets, manage lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure readiness for replacements.
- Be available for emergency calls for critical system failures, which might include after-hours or weekend work on a rotation basis.
- Work closely with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and software developers.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment repairs or upgrades.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and methodologies in data center management.
- Participate in training sessions and might occasionally train new staff or interns.
- Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Certifications like CompTIA Server+, Data Center Technician (DCT), or equivalent are advantageous.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swedish.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with server, storage and network hardware, including rack and stack experience.
- Understanding of networking principles and hardware (routers, switches, load balancers).
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) systems.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows Server).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting processes and liaising between teams.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment under pressure.
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 23 kg).
- Comfortable working in environments that might be noisy or require climbing ladders.
- Other:
- Must pass security clearance checks due to the sensitive nature of data handled.
- Must be adaptable to rotating shifts if necessary.
- Travel to other European data centers may be required
