The Medical Advisor role at Blueprint Medicines is a critical position within the organization, responsible for providing medical, scientific and strategic expertise to support Germany’s development and commercialization programs. As a Medical Advisor, you will play a key role in driving the success of Blueprint's mission to improve and extend the lives of as many patients as possible through precision therapy. You will be a reliable bridge between clinical research, market access and commercialization and within the overall organization building strong relationships and collaboration with external and internal stakeholders.

As a Medical Advisor you will be living and sharing our core values and will be driven by the pursuit of new ideas, new innovations, and new ways of thinking to help advancing a diverse portfolio of innovative therapies for mast cell disorders, including systemic mastocytosis and chronic urticaria, hematology and solid tumors.

 

What will you do?

Scientific expertise

  • Develop and maintain scientific and medical expertise
  • Identify unmet medical needs and contribute to science-based information 
  • Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences, and support development of summaries of key data, presentations, or symposium
  • Participates in gathering clinical insights / needs / feedback from medical specialists / customers in the market and communicates to internal partners

Medical Review

  • Review and sign off local educational and promotional material for the corresponding indication
  • Responsible for the medical review of all commercial, market access and medical materials
  • Close collaboration with Information Officer (Informationsbeauftragte)

Data generation

  • Support interventional and non-Interventional clinical trials in close collaboration with R&D teams
  • Support Investigator initiated studies
  • Collaborate with market access for HEOR, access required information

Scientific communication

  • Raises awareness of products / areas through the publication of manuscripts, presentations, and training, according to local regulations.
  • Give scientific presentations in the company´s medical educational program and ensure high-quality training for field teams

Medical Activities and projects

  • Drive Medical Plan process and execution
  • Drive medical projects and engages with key scientific experts KOL and HCPs (advisory boards, congress symposia, publications, hospital meetings and speaker programs)
  • Provide clinical presentations and respond to medical requests

Cross functional reference point on the therapeutic area and product

  • Provide medical support to sales, market access and marketing activities including for promotional product presentations and training design or approval
  • Builds professional relationships within the market, regional and global medical teams and provides local scientific input
  • Closely collaborate with MSL teams
  • Support other German speaking countries / DACH Region within the role to follow HCP preferences and close collaboration within the countries and the cross-border networks.

 

What minimum qualifications do we require?

  • PhD, MD, PharmD, Pharmacist, and other life sciences with proven medical/ technical background
  • 3-5 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in a similar role.
  • Experience in hematology/oncology, rare disease, dermatology and/or allergology space
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in German and in English
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of local pharmaceutical Code of Practice, regulations, and SOPs
