At the heart of "BlackRock as a platform" FMA strives to build and deepen BlackRock's relationships with our clients' senior management, serving them on their most critical and sophisticated needs.
The group unites extensive capital markets expertise, complex engagement management capabilities, data and analytics proficiency, and strategic client advisory insights. With approximately 200 team members worldwide, FMA maintains a tailored and specialized approach to drive BlackRock's key commercial priorities, working where the firm has unique perspective and capabilities.

FMA operates as regional businesses that share a core mission and set of objectives. We partner closely on global opportunities while retaining a focus on regional clients. The Americas FMA team has considerable experience serving US-based banks, spanning G-SIBs to regionals, as well as market infrastructure providers, governmental entities, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
Role Overview
As an FMA Engagement Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams throughout the entire client engagement lifecycle, from initial pitches to final analysis delivery, to help financial institutions, sovereigns, and other market participants achieve their most important goals. You will take ownership of the analyses produced and manage project scope to ensure successful client outcomes.
In this role, you will drive commercial impact by establishing ongoing relationships with clients, identifying their objectives, and structuring solutions to their challenges in ways that only BlackRock can. FMA is the delivery mechanism for many of BlackRock's most complex cross-firm initiatives, and you will collaborate closely with business divisions across the firm globally to leverage BlackRock's platform for our clients.
This position offers the opportunity to enhance your skills in engagement management, critical thinking, analytics, leadership, and relationship building. You will deepen your expertise in financial institutions' priorities, capital markets, risk and regulation, and other topics through live project work. Partnering with subject matter experts, you will promote thought leadership and identify emerging trends that will impact our clients.
We are looking for candidates who can lead initiatives independently with targeted supervision while fostering a collaborative team environment. You will manage project teams, present analyses effectively, and engage with senior leaders both within clients and across BlackRock. Strong relationship-building and communication skills at all levels are essential.
Beyond specific projects, you will be a people manager to talented Associates and Analysts, coaching and training them to foster their development and build followership. You will play a key role in building culture and community within the FMA team.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant consulting and / or financial services experience
- Proven track record of collaborating with a diverse team across various seniority levels while maintaining a significant degree of independence; showcase excellent leadership and organizational capabilities
- Intellectually curious and initiative taker
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities; able to synthesize complex concepts to bolster findings and recommendations
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving proficiency
- Comfort with a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proven successful people management experience a plus
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 - $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
