About This Role: Are you ready to champion financial strategy and foster a collaborative environment within a vibrant leadership team? As the GCC Head of Finance, you will be at the heart of our operations across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. Your expertise will guide the management of our P&L, financial planning and analysis, and the Annual Operating Plan, contributing to our overarching success. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring a robust internal control environment while partnering closely with Global Business Services. Reporting to the VP, Head of Finance and Operations, you will be a beacon of financial wisdom for the Biogen Intercontinental Region, translating numbers into narratives that drive our mission forward. In this role, you will find yourself deeply integrated within the fabric of our organization, providing valuable insights that propel our strategic objectives and fostering an inclusive team culture that thrives on collaboration and shared success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Affiliate Leadership Team, offering strategic financial guidance and fostering a culture of inclusivity and teamwork.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of revenue streams, profit margins, and contributions, using these insights to enhance organizational performance.
  • Monitor business health through budget, forecast, and KPI comparisons, and advise on actions to address variances.
  • Engage in investment reviews, support business case development, and liaise with global finance for necessary approvals.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to align commercial operations with financial objectives.
  • Manage the P&L to meet operating income goals, identify potential risks, and devise effective mitigation strategies.
  • Optimize working capital, ensure timely receivables, and maintain appropriate channel inventory.
  • Oversee financial planning processes, including long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with local and international financial teams.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial reviews and contribute to the Annual Operating Plan, with a focus on patient trends and supply requirements.
  • Uphold internal controls and compliance with corporate policies, statutory principles, and ethical standards.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment, recruiting and nurturing talent, promoting development, and organizing succession planning.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of financial experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to the GCC region.
  • Proven track record in financial strategy, P&L management, and FP&A.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Experience with internal controls, compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and forward-thinking approach.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and promoting an inclusive culture.
