Opportunity: VP Finance, GBS FP&A and Procurement

Hybrid role: Franklin Lakes, NJ (4 days per week in office)

The Global Business Services (GBS) team helps drive BD forward by seeking out and implementing innovative ways to operate effectively and efficiently. As part of the GBS and Finance Functional Transformations, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to shape the future of our GBS FP&A and Procurement Finance Excellence Organizations. Reporting to SVP Finance, Integrated Supply Chain & Finance GBS Transformation, the VP Finance, GBS FP&A and Procurement has overall responsibility for the strategy, cross-functional leadership, and stakeholder management to build the future of GBS' next service line - ensuring aligned delivery scope, common expectations, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met or exceeded with adequate compliance and controls for GBS FP&A and Procurement Finance Excellence. This role will oversee a direct & indirect organization across BD Associates, 3rd Party Partners, and various cross-functional teams to design, optimize and execute end-to-end process and operating model design for service lines in scope.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Develops vision and strategic roadmap including creating an experience mindset, BD Excellence culture of continuous improvement, customer-centricity, and advancing innovation. Design best-in-class global service ensuring alignment with company objectives and market trends
  • Lead transformation roadmap development and execution in partnership with transformation teams across all dimensions: process, technology, people, and interaction model.
  • Lead cross-functional partners across ISC, Finance and other stakeholders to develop strategic plan and roadmap for robust service infrastructure that drives growth and business expansion
  • Develop and foster external relationships and benchmarking to ensure responsiveness to changing environment

Procurement Excellence Leadership

  • Partner with CPO and Procurement Organization to embed Financial Excellence into core operations and determine operating model for the future
  • Develop financial strategy, support, and performance metrics to drive performance assessment/delivery of incremental Indirect Program improvement and supplier kaizen approach
  • Lead short, medium, and long-term forecasting, tracking, and strategic development of actions to deliver material cost improvement collaboratively across enterprise
  • Correlate financial impact of sustaining engineering initiatives to enterprise cost to deliver, and identify opportunities to unlock value and improve enterprise profitability

BP&A Leadership

  • Build and develop Operating model for overall GBS FP&A including design and stand-up of GBS service delivery in core sub-processes, parting with Operating Expense COE, ISC FP&A, and Others
  • Partner with corporate BP&A, CAO, BU BP&A, and other key stakeholders to drive E2E process optimization across GBS relevant FP&A processes
  • Partner with Global Finance Solutions (GFS) to drive build and leverage global R&A hub

Service Delivery for BP&A and Procurement Excellence

  • Lead global organization including BD associates and 3rd party providers to deliver service, quality, budget commitments with adequate controls and in compliance with all statutory, regulatory and SOX 404 requirements.
  • Develop and meet financial and budget expectations for organization. Provide business guidance on service allocation and charge-back model
  • Ownership of global standards, policies, and processes and change management/governance/communication
  • Provide guidance, direction and expertise to support all relevant internal and external audits
  • Ensure strong metrics and analytics in place for service performance management
  • Drive a continuous improvement and change management capability within organization and across cross-functional partners to optimize effectiveness and efficiency
  • Provide strategic leadership to acquisitions, divestures, reorganizations and other integrations, as required

Governance & Stakeholder management

  • Ownership of governance and engagement with cross-functional partners in region across Finance function, GBS, ISC, and the Business
  • Represent areas of scope in E2E Finance function engagement forums. Drive and facilitate engagement
  • Represent areas of scope in GBS Leadership team advocating for the team's needs and seeking opportunities to collaborate on platform solutions that cross E2E Process boundaries

Talent and Change Leadership

  • Create a climate which provides direction; champions new initiatives; encourages others to change and serves as a catalyst of change; manages effectively in a high-change environment.
  • Responsible for building customer-focused organizational culture with a strong focus and capability on designing, measuring, and delivering end-to-end employee experience across process areas
  • Serve as advocate and talent champion for talent development

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Deep end-to-end process knowledge of Finance, GBS services, and Supply Chain Finance
  • Proven ability to lead strategic service line design and implementation while maintaining day-to-day operations
  • A global, customer-first mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of managing and inspiring teams.
  • A collaborative, can-do mentality, with the ability to drive change management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact at all levels with a proven record of championing new ideas, concepts and technologies and obtain buy-in from executive leadership
  • Track record of driving business results in ambiguous and fluid situations through inspirational leadership, pragmatic approach, and empowering people to act with speed, agility and accountability to deliver against the organizational goals
  • Must develop and maintain a high-performing team with the ability to lead in a matrixed environment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • CPA, CMA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of large scale, global team leadership in finance functions (Supply Chain Finance, RTR, FP&A) with significant levels of transformation
  • Minimum 3 years leading and/or building a GBS model or functional areas
  • Preferred: Experience in Lean, VSM and Six Sigma
