Job Description Summary

The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business unit has global revenue of $4.4 billion. It accounts for approximately 22% of the Company's revenue, making it the largest business unit in the Company in terms of revenue and associates employed.

Advanced Access Devices (AAD) is based globally in Salt Lake City, UT and is one of several platforms within the MDS business unit.

The AAD Finance Manager reports to the Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, Advanced Access Devices and will work across the Global AAD platform supporting analytical needs, reporting, close activities, financial modeling, and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders. This role will also support the US region in the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term estimates as it relates to the AAD platform.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the accuracy, quality and completeness of all data and content provided to stakeholders. It will be critical for the Finance Manager to work with BD's existing financial reporting tools and processes and to work globally in understanding financial performance. A successful candidate is one who is personally accountable for contributions, ethical, and demonstrates a commitment to excellence. In addition, a successful candidate must be proficient in the observation of anomalies, demonstrate strong logical reasoning, and exhibit keen attention to detail with a desire to find opportunities for improved process efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be based in Salt Lake City, Utah, or Franklin Lakes, NJ. The role provides flexibility to work on site 4 days weekly and remotely Friday on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Coordinate and develop budgets, forecasts, reports, and analysis of revenue (with special emphasis on capital and service revenue). Familiarity with ASC 842 and ASC 606 preferred.
  • Own and manage warranty accounting, forecasting, and reporting as it relates to capital sales
  • Prepare monthly close deliverables (e.g. reports, variance analysis, and journal entries)
  • Develop an understanding of AAD products and analyze global financial results to glean insights about current and forward-looking dynamics
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in financial data sets. Understand data and transactional flows as it relates to the reporting process and internal systems and applications.
  • Drive automation in data consolidation and variance analysis leveraging systems including SAP, BPC, and dashboarding technologies (Power BI)
  • Support the global Integrated Business Process (IBP) with collaboration with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations. Attend demand consensus and supply review meetings to ensure alignment between strategy, demand and supply plans, and financial projections.
  • Partner with cross-functional partners to develop complex new product development financial models in support of new product development
  • Manage marketing expense budget and forecast and present to senior leadership as needed.
  • Own and direct annual update of product hierarchy in Reltio
  • Define process improvement opportunities and implement process changes. Develop ad-hoc reports where needed to support business needs.
  • Travel up to 10%

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CFA, CPA, CMA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Finance or Accounting role with a focus on planning, budgeting, and reporting. Expertise in forecasting and variance analysis required.
  • Passionate about data and analyzing business needs
  • Strong experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audience with varying technical skills, backgrounds, and experience levels
  • SAP, PowerBI, and BPC experience preferred
  • Experience in a FDA-regulated, medical device environment is a plus
  • Self-motivated, self-driven, proactive and seeks continuous improvement
