The Electro-Mechanic (Automation Maintenance) role supports automated production lines by troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical failures. The successful candidate will be strong at troubleshooting and enjoy problem solving. This position will use these skills often throughout the shift to keep the machines running to meet production goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Read electrical schematics to aid in troubleshooting with contacts, servo drives, panelviews, PLCs and power distribution on 24 VDC to 120 VAC to 480 VAC systems.
- Assist Manufacturing engineers with assembly, setup, and debugging of automated machinery as needed.
- Trouble shoot Allen Bradley ladder logic.
- Lock Out Tag Out.
- Familiar with Devicenet, Profibus, Sercos and Ethernet communications.
- Communicate on-going issues and design change ideas to correct departments such as Manufacturing Engineering and other Automation Controls Technicians.
- Read mechanical prints and solid models to aid in troubleshooting.
- Support the production and engineering teams by providing technical assistance with PLC / electronic controls trouble shooting and repair.
- Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures and safety practices
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment in a high volume environment
- Maintain, replace, and repair electrical controls devices used on the manufacturing equipment
- Maintain, replace, and repair mechanical devices used on the manufacturing equipment
- Ability to operate in a team environment or without supervision.
- Other duties, as assigned.
This position is a two week rotating 12-hour days (6am-6pm)
Example of Days worked:
- Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun
- Week 2: Wed, Thurs.
REQUIREMENTS
- A.S./A.A. degree in a manufacturing technology related field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years' maintenance support experience in a high-volume, manufacturing environment, or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of electrical components used in high-volume, automated manufacturing equipment.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in electronic controls for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with troubleshooting PLC controlled equipment is a must.
