Position Description
Working within the Trade Operations team as part of the Australian Fulfillment, Service and Operations organisation, the role is responsible for critical administrative tasks supporting client's trade financing requirements, including but not limited to the following:
- Timely execution of client transactions including Commercial and Standby letters of credit, bank guarantees, trade loans and supply chain financing
- Ongoing client service for the bank's trade financing customers
- Regular liaison with internal departments to ensure documentation & processes are aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Regular information reconciliation and reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and coordinating execution of daily trade financing transactions.
- Review Standby LC and Bank Guarantee Language and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Monitoring of commercials associated with the transactions (fees due from clients, etc).
- Extensive liaison with Credit, Sales, Product officers, Risk & Control and processing teams.
- Maintaining & updating client Profiles for internal processing.
- Respond to all trade related internal / external enquiries.
- Investigate and resolve complex trade related enquiries.
- Review documents against approved policies to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with local and regional management.
- Reporting, reconciliation at various intervals and respond to Audit (internal and external).
Key Requirements
- Knowledge of trade finance and related international rules and regulations
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, communication and telephone skills.
- Ability to work in high pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent PC skills (MS Office).
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate strong customer service focus.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work well within a small team and share responsibilities.
- Flexibility with hours.
- Self-starter and takes personal ownership of work.
- Attention to detail.
- Work independently and with guidance where necessary.
Preferred Background
- Minimum 3 years Trade Finance related experience in a domestic or international bank.
- Exposure to working in a team environment while collaborating with multiples teams.
