Job Description
The Director of Strategic Positioning is an integral member of the Collegiate Hospitality Growth team and provides strategic sales support for individual sales processes. As part of the Strategic Solutions Group, this individual will have oversight of the writing and management of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. This includes ensuring strategic alignment with client needs, articulating the Aramark value proposition, and completing tactical elements of proposal and presentation in support of achieving sales goals for Aramark Collegiate Hospitality. The selected individual will gain a detailed understanding of the customer from individual sellers and sales leadership in support of identifying buying influences, win-results, needs, gaps, and strategic goals for integration into the proposal strategy to create sophisticated and comprehensive proposals and presentations.

The Director of Strategic Positioning creates content strategy, collaborates with the internal agency and individual sellers for the proposal and presentation development, delivers design and layout input, and ensures final delivery deadlines of sales proposals and presentations are met. This individual will partner with all key stakeholders including the Growth, Marketing and Corporate teams. As the Proposal Response Subject-Matter Expert, this individual will provide leadership to the Growth Team content management resources, as well as the dedicated internal agency resources for ongoing updates of proposal templates to ensure proof points, best practices and refreshed content are included on a regular basis. In addition, this role will ensure quality assurance for all documents and materials especially as they relate to corporate identity compliance, high-quality photographs, and accurate content through all phases. The ideal candidate in partnership with the individual seller will take a leadership role in proactively creating and maintaining timelines, updating the team on progression, proactively following up on adherence to timelines, and performing work within specified response and turnaround times.
The Director of Strategic Positioning reports to the Strategic Solutions Senior Director. This role also has one direct report, the Strategic Positioning Manager, who will provide support and/or lead additional Collegiate Hospitality sales proposal opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction to the Strategic Positioning Manager to expand sales support for proposal and presentation completion.
- Review RFP documents, research prospective and current clients, and strategize with seller to create a value proposition for the executive summary, proposal, and ancillary vision documents.
- Thoroughly reviews each section of the RFP and assists with editing and proofreading content to ensure a consistent flow and message?blending terminology and styles of multiple authors.
- Ensures logical relationships of text, art, and graphics.
- Creates, captures, and maintains reusable content for inclusion in the content management system.
- Maintains knowledge of proposal templates, contacts, process, key metrics, references, and materials.
- Supports the review of existing content on a regular basis for accuracy and stays current with industry strategic objectives and trends.
- Supports presentation preparation to ensure messaging is aligned with overall strategy.

Experience:
The Director of Strategic Positioning should be a strategic thinker with strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. The selected individual will have the ability to effectively manage others through influence rather than formal authority.

Qualifications
The Director of Strategic Positioning should have a minimum of five years of marketing experience or experience developing strategic content and possess a bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university in communications, marketing, business, or related field. This individual will have the ability to write clearly, creatively, and persuasively. The ideal candidate will have experience in research and writing, both independently and in collaboration with others. This individual must have the ability to interpret and organize complex information, creating a story for each proposal. An extensive track record of success with complex multi-million-dollar proposals or other relevant client work product is preferred.
Other qualifications include:
- Experience with business development proposals and presentations ? preferably in the higher education industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills, strategic acumen, critical thinking skills and the vision necessary to help develop unique solutions for a variety of clients.
- Customer orientation and client relationship management are required, including the ability to communicate and work with a broad range of colleagues and constituents.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information is required.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of the posting.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
