Your Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Team Manager to lead a software team developing reusable camera-based driver monitoring system (DMS) software features. The software will be used by other Aptiv teams delivering products to world-wide automotive OEMs. Driver monitoring fits within Aptiv's overall effort within interior sensing, which also includes features such as seat occupancy monitoring, seat belt usage detection and gesture recognition. DMS is a rapidly growing area which plays a critical role in the prevention of road accidents caused by driver drowsiness or distraction.

Your role will include
- Working approximately 50% on team management and 50% on technical leadership
- Overseeing, as a servant leader, the technical planning, execution, and roadmap development for driver monitoring software components
- Creating a robust and supportive team culture resulting in skills growth and high performance
- Having a deep understanding of your team's work by staying close to the people and their activities, as well as through development of visual performance & quality metrics
- Preparing staffing plans based on a knowledge of the product roadmap and innovation needs, as well as a deep understanding of current team staffing levels and skillsets
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team as Engineering Team Manager, Product Owner, Technical Project Manager, or similar role
- 5+ years of experience as an embedded software developer using C/C++ in an agile environment
- Experience with ASPICE automotive software development process
- Exhibiting professional interest in people management, with particular focus on employee recruitment, coaching & development
- Able to achieve goals despite occasional data / time scarcity and ambiguous environment
- Very good communication skills in English in written and spoken form
Additional points for:
- Technical knowledge of driver monitoring, cabin monitoring, or vision processing
- Experience with functional safety concepts and ISO 26262
- 3+ years' experience as a software or systems architect
- Ability to travel up to 3 weeks / quarter
