What You'll Do

Applied Materials is a leader in digital transformation for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Our SmartFactoryRx platform leverages AI, IoT, and automation to optimize production efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive real-time decision-making. We empower pharmaceutical companies to enhance quality, reduce costs, and accelerate time to market.

We are seeking a Global Head of Sales to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and expand our presence in the pharmaceutical sector. This is a high-impact role requiring deep industry expertise, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership in enterprise sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership & Strategy:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the team of Pharma sales account managers providing the SmartFactory Rx software platform to the industry
  • Develop and execute a global sales strategy to drive adoption of SmartFactoryRx across pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Identify and prioritize key markets, accounts, and sales opportunities.
  • Establish and track key sales KPIs to measure success and optimize performance.

Enterprise Sales & Business Development:

  • Build and nurture relationships with C-level executives, manufacturing heads, and digital transformation leaders in pharma companies.
  • Lead the sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing, with a consultative approach.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, deployment engineering and client success teams to align sales efforts with market needs.

Market Expansion & Partnerships:

  • Develop strategic partnerships with technology providers, system integrators, and consultants to enhance SmartFactoryRx's market reach.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer challenges to position SmartFactoryRx as a must-have solution.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and forums.

Team Building & Leadership:

  • Develop and manage a high-performing global sales team.
  • Foster a results-driven and customer-centric sales culture.
  • Implement sales training, best practices, and CRM tools to scale operations effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of enterprise sales experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector or related industries.
  • Proven track record of selling digital transformation solutions, AI-driven platforms, or manufacturing automation software.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA), and pharma manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing large, complex sales cycles with C-suite engagement.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead and scale global sales teams in a high-growth environment.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
