Description
The Global Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Program manager for North America will provide hands-on subject matter expertise and leadership in support of Applied Materials' business continuity program in North America. This position will collaborate with individuals from all departments to implement, maintain, and execute business continuity projects that meet our business units' needs and support our organization to improve resiliency.
This position is located onsite at our Austin, TX campus.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with leadership, subject matter experts, and plan administrators to develop detailed and comprehensive business continuity plans for each functional area.
- Supports all North America regional crisis management teams in response to natural disasters and other types of business interruptions.
- Coordinates and monitors all project management activities to execute all phases of the business continuity program lifecycles from program initiation through operational status.
- Performs and evaluates business impact analyses and risk assessments for regional plans.
- Performs regular reviews of site and regional BCP program materials to ensure that all program documentation's quality and accuracy is maintained.
- Provides BCP training and awareness communication for regional employees. May coordinate with 3rd party organizations for training execution.
- Partners with regional sites to develop and execute BCP-focused drills and exercises.
- Develops an in-depth understanding of the business processes, assets, facilities, responsibilities, regulatory requirements, and interdependencies of the regional sites.
- Performs continuous monitoring of program activities to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency.
- Coordinates with the Global Information Services (GIS) department to ensure alignment between the disaster recovery and business continuity programs.
- Leads regional strategic BCP initiatives, including merger & acquisition activity.
- This position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Business Continuity or related field (Preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business continuity, emergency management, or disaster recovery (Required).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management with strong management and execution skills (Required).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Required).
- Professional certification (DRII, BCI, or ITIL) (Preferred).
- Demonstrated experience conducting business impact analysis and vulnerability assessments for facilities, people, processes, and technology.
- Highly experienced in using business continuity planning and emergency notifications systems.
- Adaptable, innovative, and detail oriented. Disciplined to solve complex problems, with the ability to resolve issues and drive solutions that create win-win situations.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience presenting to groups of >50 people (Required).
- Experience in business travel and cross-cultural communication.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
