Job Description
The Assistant Vice President of Product Management for Group Health Products is responsible for supporting the development of products, services or recommendations to support the overall financials and health of product(s) as well as contributing to the achievement of profit and growth targets for product(s). This job is accountable for making recommendations to management, incorporating sales feedback and market intelligence to product direction, and coordinating activities for countrywide products and rollouts. This position may manage product analysts or consultants in accomplishing this work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the achievement of short and long-term strategies to achieve market share growth and profitability targets on a countrywide basis
- Execute strategies to ensure the integration and execution of product, pricing and risk management for countrywide usage
- Manage two or more Product Analysts and/or Consultants, including performance management, workforce planning and recruitment activities
- Leverage expertise to provide recommendations to leaders on initiatives and strategic fit
- Manage / perform complex work assignments and problem resolution across systems, processes or channels and navigate obstacles to deliver the work product
- Design and support innovations in all aspects of the product development lifecycle
- Support Product Management Leaders in the creation of communication plans, product development and recommendations to solve product or implementation issues
- Determine or execute operational parameters to get new products/projects implemented
- Responsible for seeking out resolutions to barriers
- Work directly with stakeholders and cross functional AORs including marketing, sales and field product organization to align on strategies and execution methods
- Work directly with third party vendors such as TPAs, medical networks, pharmacy benefit managers and point of service solutions to coordinate team evaluation of new offerings for the program
- Oversee and own product relationships with third party partnerships such as TPAs, medical networks, pharmacy benefit managers, and point of service solutions as assigned
- Review and manage applicable updates to the Summary Plan Description for the self-funded program as needed
- Manage provider negotiations and payment parameters for reference-based pricing product
- Collaborate with Self-Mid-Market other Product Mangers to ensure cohesive program strategies and execution when applicable
- Work closely with sales counterparts to understand market needs and provide support in do to day requests
- Coordinate marketing and go-to-market initiatives identifying Allstate Benefits' value proposition and product differentiation; assist with drafting of marketing materials
- Work closely with compliance and legal teams to understand new law and regulation impacts on product line and ensure proper implementation

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years relevant experience

Functional Skills
- Expertise in level-funded health plans
- Expertise in stop-loss/excess-loss insurance
- Knowledge of product, pricing, underwriting and insurance regulation, with working knowledge of Allstate Benefits self-funded plans and product offerings
- Demonstrated business acumen with knowledge of health insurance industry and company economics
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of and experience working with Pharmacy Benefit Management programs
- Ability to review vendor and client contracts to ensure business needs are met
- Ability to work with legal and compliance teams to draft summary plan description changes to align with the self-funded program offerings
- Ability to navigate internal and external partners to see product development through from ideation to building requirements for implementation
- Strong people and thought leadership; ability to develop, mentor and coach others
- Strong change management skills
- Communication skills combined with the ability to influence others at different levels of leadership
- Ability to take ownership of work and move business forward independently and in collaboration with others
- Ability to measure, evaluate, and act on results (financial and operational)
- Demonstrated ability to foster a sense of urgency, strong commitment and accountability for achieving results

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $104,000.00 - 187,625.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
