We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a DSM Flex Electro-Mechanic 3 supporting the U,S, Development of Process & Pilot Engineering in Duluth, GA, a typical day will include:
- Troubleshoot and correct issues related to complex research equipment used in the contact lens development / manufacturing process
- Identify improvements to machines and processes related to the support of contact lens development / manufacturing
- Resolves major technical problems in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical and control systems
- Direct and improve maintenance systems (preventative, corrective, predictive and spare parts)
- Provide training to existing and new Electro Mechanics, when required
- Ensure good 5S standards and documentation completeness accordance to procedures
- Position may require international travel, particularly to Germany for periods of up to two months at a time
- Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills and ability to support a team environment
- Temporarily work night shift and weekends, when required (working hours to be determined by project team)

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 3 Years of Relevant Experience

- Capable to troubleshoot software-related issues on a PLC/HMI level (Beckhoff, B&R, Siemen's, Zenon, WinCC)
- Work experience in medical devices / contact lenses
- High school diploma with technical school certification or equivalent training/experience
- Specialized diploma/degree or industry certification in at least one discipline (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, control systems, and/or equipment schematics)
- Five years of related experience with technical certification or 7 years (preferred) of related experience in a manufacturing environment if no technical certification
- Experience troubleshooting production equipment-related issues (e.g. mechanical and electrical malfunctions)
