Working in Target’s offices

Innovate With Target tech
Every time a guest enters a Target store or browses Target.com, they experience the impact of Target’s investments in technology and innovation. Our global in-house technology team of 4,500+ is comprised of engineers, data scientists, architects, coaches, and product managers committed to making Target America’s easiest, safest, and most joyful place to shop and work.
Target tech leads in not only what we do, but also how we work and who we are. Diversity and inclusion are deeply ingrained in our culture, and we operate with an everyday focus on innovation and experimentation, continuous learning, and growth and development.
Community & Diversity
Target’s focus on technology extends well beyond corporate headquarters. Giving back to the greater tech community is also a priority: Target hosts a variety of monthly meetups to discuss new software platforms and trends and share lessons learned with the local tech community. The company also offers programs for groups typically under-represented in technology, data and engineering fields. For example, their exclusive Engineering Manager Immersion Program (eMIP) offers on-the-job leadership training to African Americans and women interested in advancing their tech careers. Similarly, Target’s Science and Technology Day encourages young women to pursue careers in STEM fields.

Collaboration & Drive
Because of its progressive company culture, some employees describe Target as a start-up masquerading as a Fortune 500 company. An ethos of enthusiasm and a fast-paced, agile mindset drive teams to deliver high-quality, value-added work. What’s more, team members are provided the resources, support and flexibility they need to feel empowered and take ownership of their work—all while working collaboratively with expert and cross-functional teams.
