Position Summary

We are seeking an innovative and collaborative leader with a track record of building creative teams. The Content & Creative Director is responsible for developing the overall creative strategy and execution for the ZS brand, reporting into the Sr. Director of Digital, Design & Experience. In this role, you will be embedded as a critical member of the marketing & communications leadership team, working to ensure marketing strategies can be translated into inspiring content and creative campaigns to help ZS stand out amongst the competition. This role will oversee a team of 25+ individuals, including senior managers, over the content strategy & creative design teams - requiring a unique blend of experience in strategy, design, positioning and hands-on involvement to help evolve and grow the brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/evolve the overall content & creative strategy for ZS, ensuring alignment with the company's mission, vision, brand and GTM strategy. Define key performance indicators, report on challenges/opportunities and refine strategy accordingly.
  • Inspire, enable, and energize a world-class content & design team across the US and India, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment setting clear goals, while inspiring innovation. Create integration between content & creative teams to improve our efficiency and time to market.
  • Build a strategy for leveraging AI and outsourcing work to extend the team's capabilities. Lead agency resources as an extension of the internal team.
  • Work closely with internal clients to understand their needs and requirements. Work with the team to translate client briefs into original creative ideas. Develop an understanding of our target markets to ensure creative concepts resonate not only in alignment with brand but also with audience needs.
  • Elevate the quality of our promotional assets (including video, print, digital & social, etc.) helping to make ZS stand out amongst the competition and enhance the company's brand reputation.
  • Contribute as a key member of the marketing & communications leadership team - offering ideas to improve overall GTM effectiveness. Effectively present new ideas and concepts to senior leadership, to gain buy-in for new campaigns & creative approaches - elevating the role of marketing in the content development process.
  • Lead a traffic team to effectively staff projects and manage timelines while maintaining quality and balancing resources and budgets. Create new ways of working to improve the team's ability to deliver quality content & creative in the market quickly.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in content strategy and/or creative roles. At least 10 years of management experience, including leading large teams. B2B, agency and global experience preferred.
  • BS required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership and management skills are essential for guiding and inspiring a diverse team of writers and designers to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strategic mindset to analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform creative direction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crafting innovative and impactful content strategies that differentiate the brand in the market.
  • Strong executive-level communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with senior leaders across the firm to gain buy-in and alignment on creative strategies.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, driving accountability while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Proactive approach to seeking feedback, incorporating input from internal clients, and adapting creative solutions based on insights and feedback.
  • Proficiency in developing and refining creative concepts, from ideation to final delivery, across various content formats and channels.
  • Strong project management skills to oversee the end-to-end creative process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience in working with external vendors, agencies, or freelancers to supplement internal creative capabilities and deliver high-quality content.
  • Ability to flex schedule to work early morning hours to collaborate with team in India. Ability to travel to India at least once per year.
