What is the ESG Team and Why Join?

As part of this team, you'll work closely with the ESG Manager, Environmental Compliance, to ensure that WWT complies with all relevant ESG regulations and standards, while also engaging with stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability and compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to support impactful compliance processes within a fast-paced, global environment.
What will you be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to support the ESG Environmental Compliance Program within a growing, dynamic Legal & Compliance department. We are looking for someone with a passion for organization, attention to detail, and dedication to promoting sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- ESG Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all ESG-related regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain ESG compliance programs and procedures under the direction of the ESG Manager, Environmental Compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential ESG compliance risks.
- Compile and submit required ESG regulatory reports, registrations, and documentation (e.g., packaging, WEEE, batteries).
- Review product materials, labeling, and other documents for ESG regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with internal departments and external partners to gather and communicate ESG regulatory information.
- Facilitate and support ESG-related initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide support on ESG compliance topics, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of sustainability and compliance.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Organize and maintain documentation for ESG regulatory compliance, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory submissions.
- Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Keep informed about the latest developments in ESG regulations and provide analysis on potential impacts to WWT.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Studies, Law, Compliance, Business Administration, or related discipline).
- 2 years of experience in ESG regulatory compliance.
- Certification in ESG regulatory compliance (e.g., Certified ESG Professional) is a plus.
- Understanding of ESG regulatory requirements and compliance processes.
- Ability to set goals and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated data management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
- Investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
