Position Title: Global Head of Government Affairs, Wipro Group

Overview: The Global Head of Government Affairs will facilitate Wipro Limited and Wipro Enterprises Limited ("Wipro") interactions with governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders in India USA, UK, Australia and all other countries where Wipro has significant business operations across the world . This role is crucial in shaping and advancing Wipro's public policy agenda, facilitating engagement and discussions on key regulatory and policy areas, and fostering strong relationships with policymakers and influencers. Will serve as a senior advisoe to top executives, influencing decision -making processes related to government activities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive government affairs strategies that align with Wipro's business goals and objectives. Create white paper on company to country approach. Evangelize the Wipro story across stakeholders and build the brand with government stakeholders.
    • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal government officials, industry associations and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and analyse legislation and regulations that impact Wipro, ensuring compliance and advising on necessary adjustments to business practices.
    • Issue Management: Identify and manage potential political and regulatory risks and crisis management, developing proactive strategies to address and mitigate these risks.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on public policy issues. Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, events, and forums.
    • Communication: Serve as the primary spokesperson for Wipro on governmental and regulatory matters. Prepare and deliver presentations, briefings, and reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
    • Coalition Building: Work with industry peers and coalitions to advance common public policy goals and objectives. Represent or support Wipro's representation in key industry associations in India and globally.

    Policy Advocacy: Advocate for Wipro's positions on legislative and regulatory issues, including drafting policy proposals, position papers, and testimony for hearings. Should be able to write on Technology policy topics such as Digital transformation, Data, Privacy, Sustainability, Cybersecurity, Emerging technologies, AI, Diversity for regions including for Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East region.

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications and Experience:

    An accomplished leader with 20+ years of experience and proven track record in advocacy/ public policy

    High integrity and sense of purpose

    Inter-personal skills and ability to engage effectively in a matrix environment

    Work with senior leadership .

    A background in business administration, public policy, political science, public relations along with MBA or law degree preferred.
