What you’ll do:

Wind River is seeking an experienced developer to join the VxWorks Development Team.  The successful candidate will develop new features, modify existing features by adding new functionality and certify features that will be used by our Aerospace, Industrial and Automotive customers.

Who You Will Work With:

The successful candidate will join a highly skilled development team delivering products, with a focus on VxWorks OS certified software for use in mission-critical avionics applications. This teamwork closely with the product management team and system architects to understand and implement customers.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with product management and system architect to understand customer requirements
  • Develop product features in accordance with customer requirements
  • Actively participate in technical certification activities
  • Provide technical leadership to junior members of the team
  • Take initiatives to improve features and processes
  • Help keep team focused and organized for releases
  • Identify, communicate, and coordinate inter-team dependencies
  • Seek opportunities to collaborate between teams

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
  • Solid understanding of software development methodology
  • Minimum 7 years experience in designing complex software features
  • Minimum 7 year experience working in a software design and development role
  • Solid programming experience in C, C++ and Python
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong documentation and writing skills
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools and defect tracking tools
  • Knowledge of DO-178 certification standard and certification experience is an asset
  • Experience in embedded software development is an asset
  • Knowledge or experience with Agile development workflows is an asset
